was a combination of a lot of different things.

    1) I likedd the Ram, but when researching it, I was finding that while the interior was nice, it was put together poorly and gave way to a lot of rattling, and breaking trim parts.
    2) @baygirl kept asking me if I was excited over the Ram, and if I answered honestly, I never really was. I mean, I liked it, but didn't love it.
    3) I REALLY love the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. This is now my 3rd one, and I just love it.
    4) Ford finally played ball with me numbers wise. I finally got to pick the truck I wanted, and I didn't have to settle on a lesser build than what I was looking for.
    5) This F150 I was able to walk in, tell them exactly what I wanted /engine/trim/options/color and they had is right there on the lot. No bullshit, no drama, just here it is.
    6) while the $ amount for the Ford and the Ram were nearly identical, ford's financing interest rate was 3% lower, with same rebates.
    7) Dodge wanted me to pay for all their dealer add-ons (level/rims/tires/liner/etc) while Ford let me take them off my old truck and they installed them onto the new one for me at no charge.

Honestly, I was on the way down to go buy that blue Ram I posted in the other thread, figured I would stop back in at Ford and try one last time, and it just worked out. Walked in, and half an hour later I was signing the paperwork with @Sorath and scheduling pickup of the truck the next day. Oh, and they gave me a trip for 2 to Vegas for buying the truck too.

All things considered, the Ford was the better deal, and the truck I really wanted. First time I have ever purchased a brand new vehicle and I didn't have to settle for anything. I absolutely love my new truck.

Honestly think those new RAM's are very overrated, everyone got all caught up in the dash and interior trimmings and forgot that they are so far behind in the power dept. I looked on the gen 5 Ram forums before buying my Sierra, and yeah, quality is brutal on those things!I think the Ford and GM's have a superior powertrain too, the 3.5 EB is a pretty awesome engine. Enjoy!

Both the 2.7 and 3. 5 Ecoboost engines are outstanding.

How are they at towing at this elevation? I had been eyeing an Ecoboost for a while but I might have a line on a very well kept 5.0 now. My trailer is light, but it's also a sail. Worried a turbo engine wouldn't like that?

They tow fine. If it’s a tall enclosed trailer your fuel economy will be shit no matter what. Weight seems to matter less than frontal area etc I find for fuel economy and towing.

Yeah that's what I've discovered. Really liking the look of the Ranger, but frontal area might be a problem. Reallllly wish it was available with a 2.7 or something...

If you’re just towing the 7 I’d find the smallest enclosed trailer that will work for it. I towed my dads to Ft Macleod for one of the June events and my massive overkill 5000lb trailer with 1280lb car was about the same fuel economy as the same trailer with 4000lbs in it. Wind direction makes a major change to my fuel economy even with the diesel.

The 3.5L EB tows like a champ. Even with the tiny 3.31 gears in my '12, I was towing 7000lbs doing 120 and the truck didn't even notice it. Gas mileage was horrible, but GOBS of power and I was passing people on the steep hills on highway 22 on the way to Lundbrek Falls off of highway 3. My '16 3.5L towed another 7000lbs trailer out to drumheller, and again, like a champ, and towed lots of smaller heavy equipment to job sites and zero complaints, and that was with the 3.55 rear end. I haven't towed with my '19 3.5L EB yet.

Yeah just towing the 7, and getting the smallest trailer possible was exactly what I did. 7x12 single axle, about 3000 lbs loaded. 21l/100 to Airdrie and not a fun haul, lol.

21L/100km isn’t bad depending what was towing it. My Duramax is anywhere from 18-24L/100km towing at highway speed 5000-9000lb enclosed trailer.

Fair enough. I'll keep researching but won't discount the EB engines. Also have to see how cheap I could get that 5.0 I have a line on...

Turbo engines tow better than NA engines.

Does anyone have one of those OBD II port thingies that forscan needs to interface with the trucks? I have about half a dozen things I want to change (like double horn honk). If someone could help me out, that would be awesome!

I keep forgetting to order one as well. Double honk sucks, what else are you changing?

Global windows, auto fold mirrors, reverse mirrors, double honk. Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

Have the plug with Bluetooth. I'm in the NW.
You can borrow it or I can help you with it.
Did a bunch of it on my truck a few months ago. I still have the spreadsheet printed out from the F150 forum.
