Shelby American said its next model wouldn’t be Mustang-based, and it wasn’t kidding. Now, the company has unveiled the latest addition to its specialty vehicle lineup, the Shelby Raptor. Starting with a 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, Shelby added more power and its signature graphics to create the unique performance pickup that took the stage at the New York auto show.

Helping the force-fed eight-cylinder breathe easier is a Shelby Borla exhaust system, while the stock six-speed automatic transmits its power to all four wheels. Those wheels are shod in 35-inch Goodrich All-Terrain tires, and a custom wheel design is also available. Three graphics packages will be offered, each helping to set the Shelby Raptor apart from lesser, non-supercharged models.
The Shelby Raptor package starts at $17,995 and does not include the cost of the base truck. Each model year, Shelby will build 100 specialty Raptors. Helping to ensure collectability is a documented Shelby CSM number plaque, which is entered into the official Shelby Registry. Shelby is now accepting orders for the supercharged truck, which will join the Shelby Focus ST and 1200-hp Shelby 1000 S/C for the 2013 model-year.
