    Question Landscape Architect

Looking at redoing the landscape this year and would like to explore lawn alternatives. Does anybody have a reference or example of work for a landscape architect based in Calgary?

Example of what I'm looking to do...

How much are you looking to spend on your landscaping (construction wise)? Honestly, if it's just for a small front lawn like that in the link you provided, I'm not sure that you really need the expertise of a LA, especially since most LA's in Calgary charge a minimum $2,5k - $5k for their services. Perhaps a simple landscaping design & construction company may suit your needs better.

Hey, this is a bump from the dead, but a buddy of mine is looking for some assistance in designing his property on a large new-build home.
It's about 1/3 of an acre, so not your typical city lot.
I think he's planning on doing the actual work himself, aside from any large trees, so he really needs the "ideas and design" stuff.

Anyone know a landscape architecture student wanting some hands on experience for their portfolio? I suspect cost is a factor for this, as he's blowing his load on paying for this massive lot, and the house.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

We used http://www.yourspacebydesign.com/ The price was reasonable.

Our lot is slightly smaller, but she provides all the plans. Our landscaper worked off those plans. Most landscapers will also quote based on those plans.

^ Awesome, thanks for that. I'm building a new house and will be landscaping next year. Talking to any of the landscaping companies at the homeshow, they were all design-build and I'd like to do the majority of building myself.

Bumping this one up. We’re considering doing some landscaping to our front yard but we’d prefer to hire someone to work on the design before we tackle the project. Does anyone have recommendations on a landscape architect or landscape designer?

Came across these guys when I was browsing for ideas. They have some awesome spaces. No personal experience with them. http://www.vision-scapes.ca/index.php
