Default Yukon Denali Amp Sub INstall

    Hey All,

I was wondering if someone could guide me as to how to install a aftermarket sub and amp in my 07 yukon denali with bose.

The confusion arises with the bose, the fact that the bose amp does all the signal processing and the head unit just sends a signal.

Could I just tap the stock sub's wires for the preouts?

    Thanks,

You answered your own question. Bose sub amp out -> LOC -> aftermarket amp ->sub

    And before you ask....

Audiocontrol LC2i if you want just your sub and the LC6i if you want to add more later.

I'm integrated into bose with my pioneer headunit. So if I can do this you can easily put an amp and sub in. There is a remote wire you can tap into but i'm not sure about signal out. I bet there is a module you can get.

You should be matching the amp to the sub, not the vehicle. Check the specs of the sub

I would recommend an Alpine Type S 10", that will give you best bang for your buck and can be powered by a low power amp like that MTX. The thing to remember is that a higher wattage amp will not = more bass, its all about tuning. I run a single 12" in my jeep with a 1000 watt amp and it is tuned for clarity and does not pound unless I want it to. The advantage to this is that my amp is running very efficiently and doesnt even warm up with hours of listening. Also doing a sealed box with the factory air space specs will give you tighter clearer bass.

    Thanks GTS4Tw

After donig some reading, I've found out that I cannot simply tap the rear speaker outputs and add a LOC. The bose amp gets confused because of the contrast in impedence this causes.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Did some rehashing this weekend, went with the Type S SWS 12d4 and the mprm500 in a sealed box.

Install on wednesday, I hope this gives me some boom.

And got it installed and does this baby have some boom.

The installer orignally used the rear outs, but that threw of the bose amplifier and confused the shit ooutta it. Switched the subwoofer outs and booom goes the dynamite
