I'm looking for another atv and need some ideas, must be 4x4, would rather it have an LSD or locker in front. Do not care about power steering.
I do like the grizzly 700s, outlanders, etc.
No Polaris /arctic scrap/ Chinese recommendations please .

Go with a Can Am.
I demoed a Renegade and it was awesome!Originally posted by Boosted131
I've been looking at the renegades at outlanders already. Some of my buddy's ride them
Its personal preference really. Pretty much everyone around here rides a can am. They are the fastest and most expensive (in some cases). I like kawasaki's personally. Its what I would buy if I was getting into a 4x4. Love the front manual front locker and the V-twins are good engines.
Google ATV TV for reviews.
Life is too short to drive boring cars.
We bought a 2007 Suzuki Vinson 500 for our farm, and just love it. Its literally impossible to get it stuck, and yes I've tried. We paid $4k for it last year, and so far we have nothing but praise for it. Its a damn good unit. Being a 500, I would have liked a bit more power, but it has enough. I was quite disappointed that it tops off at about 90kph though, so I dont take it on the highways anymore.
Some higher gearing would have been great.

Power steering is worth it if you're looking at a Can-Am. Their standard front diff is known for being slow to engage both wheels (one front wheel will spin several revolutions before the second one engages). The QE (quick engagement) front diff is much faster, usually instant, but it doesn't come without power steering. That being said, the non-power steering Outlanders and Renegades are still among the best in mud.
I have a Renegade, but if I didn't and I didn't want to buy a Can-Am I think a Brute Force would be my second pick. I've never rode one but from what I read and hear they are really torquey and reviews I've read say they're comparable to Can-Am power. I sat on one once. It seemed as nice as a stationary quad can be.
Edit: I would never ever ever buy a quad without power steering if I could afford it. Power steering = the best. If you had two girls, and both loved to fuck, but one would suck your dick and one wouldn't, you'd be a fucking idiot to say "no blowjobs for me thanks."

A 500 is probably lots, and if you ever decide it's not you can do any of the big bore kits with it that you can do with the 800s. Have fun.
