Yeah it must not be a scam, because like most highly reputable companies, they say right on their FAQ that, quote, "No, this is NOT a SCAM"

I would just like to chime in and say that I have been to an eStyle focus group before and its not a scam. I have not been to this particular one but I have gotten paid before for another focus group from this company. I think you guys shouldn't be so quick to judge.

And who wouldn't want to get paid to look at vehicles all day?

    My 2 cents.

Love how Beyond lays down common sense quickly ...

Heres a review from Yelp ...

Becoming a participant in an Estyle group is only worth it if you literally have nothing better to do that day. Don't fool yourself into thinking this will be an easy way to make quick cash even if you have other things going on. The group can be cancelled at any time after they contact you. Don't cancel any plans you might have had going on in your life in order to be able to participate in one of their focus groups. I cannot stress enough how this is only worth it if you really have absolutely nothing better to do.

Lol, you sound like this guy is offering you some sort of coveted job opportunity. You should keep looking for those $1000 a day looking at cars gigs.

Would be interesting to hear more from RNB11 - I know I got called once to participate in a focus group about the Alberta Motor Association last summer. I decided to participate and got paid $60 cash for about an hour's worth of my time - not that bad to give some feedback and certainly I have not seen any marked increase in scammy e-mails/phone calls since then.
    Will fuck off, again.

I've done a few of these. Not for the specific company, but pay was between $80 and $200 cash once it was over. Varied between 1 and 4 hours in the evening, basically sat there and watched some ads and looked at products and then complete a questionnaire.

i've done a few focus groups before and yes, they pay you cash when you're done. anywhere between $60-$150 for an hour or 3 of your time.

one time, i showed up 5 minutes late and they had already taken the group in but they person at the desk gave me my money anyway and sent me home.

Say this was legit and you actually get a cheque out of it... and this isn't some sort of ploy to sell all your personal information to 3rd party companies; So you get a call to go on and spend 2 hours in a fancy meeting room with other (all likely unemployed) individuals to chat about the newest car (which none of you can afford).... where is the value in this for the clients?
I did this about a year ago. The focus group I did was not car related but was from the same company. It was a one hour focus group, with 5-10 people in a small conference room. The topic of discussion had to do with a dairy milk commercial (I believe, it was awhile ago).

They basically showed us a commercial, and we evaluated different parts of it and I guess it helped them determine the quality of the commercial from a consumers point of view. From what I remember, the focus group was on time, nothing was cancelled and they catered us with free beverages. It was not bad to make a quick buck for an hour of my time.

This was a year or two ago now, so I don't know how much the company has changed.

Edit: I believe I made $60 for that focus group and it was cash handed right to you.

You can technically get a ticket for each window that's illegally tinted. So as above, if you're being an ass to the officer (or if he's just an ass to begin with), he can give you two. (or three tickets if you're dumb enough to tint the windshield of your BMW... but if you own a BMW you can't be stupid right?)
