cool shot Adam, not a big fan of the foreground though (or atleast the bottom corners) as IMO it pulls the viewers away from the lakeOriginally posted by xbr50

Thanks Earl, yeah I agree it kind of does. The focal point was set on the distant mountain and I think a larger aperture would've made the foreground less distracting.Originally posted by taemo

I think the foreground is sort of neat, but I understand what you mean Earl.
One of those situations where focus stacking would work quite well (One shot focused on the mountains, one focused on the rocks, and then combined in post.
Finally picked up my D800 again. Took me a while to find the charger, turns out it was still in my backpack from Maui last November

yeah, it's just the corners, too soft and distracting, +1 on focus stacking.
other than that, love the contrast and the colors of the lake
cool portrait shots!

Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.
Fantastic!
What lens & filter?
Any processing?
No polarizer or some sort of filter?? How did you get the sky so dark blue? Love the contrast.Originally posted by kvg
Thanks Brad. I took it with my old GF1 and 14mm 2.5. I did a bit of pp to sharpen and recover shadow details because the shadows were really dark.
I darkened the upper half and lightened the lower half. I am still working out the noise and fixing the shadows, because they are messy. I should have shot this shot RAW.
This is the original.

Two photogs who's images I really like are KVG's and Rage2.Originally posted by blitz
If Brad really likes your photo, it means you need to turn the PP down a few notches
Both really know how to edit well. Bring their photos alive.
Took this tonight at the entrance to Shaganappi Golf Course via Bow Trail.
