I live close to this place and I would never consider this an option for pho anymore. Food and decor is just horrible.

Pho Anh is a bit of a gamble for me. I usually get pretty good food there but once I got a beef pho...with no beef. Still one of the better options in the NW, but leaving NW is probably your best bet for consistently good pho.Originally posted by alien
Pho Anh has become my goto place for NW Pho too. I can't decide if it's actually really good or just not as sh_tty as all the other NW places.
Are you sure you ordered pho.. That sounds like Bun Rieu..Originally posted by Maxx Mazda
Friday update. Had me some Saigon Pearl for lunch. Ordered the seafood pho and shrimp salad rolls. The seafood soup was probably one of the worst I've had. The broth was so strange tasting. Very "sour" almost like it was made of tomatoes. In fact, there were a bunch of tomatoes in it. Much prefer the seafood broths at other places.

I hate this thread. I was craving pho all day!

Taste is a very personal thing. I was just giving my white boy opinion (albeit I eat pho probably 10-15 times a month.) What tastes not so good to me, might taste delicious to someone else. Just found it to have a very "tart" broth when I was expecting the usual sodium explosion I get at other places. The Bun at Saigon Pearl however is delish!Originally posted by beyond_ban

What's this bun everyone is talking about? Is it a must try for Vietnamese? White guy here obviously and I grew up in NS where they don't really have viet food. All I know to try is the subs and pho.
Bun is basically a rice noodle vermicelli bowl. It's not a soup. Often has spring rolls and chicken or shrimp in it with a bunch of veggies.Originally posted by chathamf

Bun means rice vermicelli, but it doesn't mean it can't be a soup.Originally posted by Maxx Mazda
