    Closed more last week. Not sure why they'd wait till Friday after most people have left for the weekend, but oh well..

    until further notice:

    •Threepoint Creek and tributaries;

    •Little Red Deer River and tributaries from headwaters downstream to Red Deer River, including Dogpound Creek and tributaries;

    •Waterton River and all tributaries upstream of Waterton Reservoir, including Drywood Creek;

    •Waterton River downstream of Waterton Reservoir, river only;

    •Castle River and tributaries downstream of SH 507 to Highway 3, including Screwdriver Creek, Beaver Mines Creek, and Mill Creek;

    I didn't have a tape on me, hence the shoe haha. Shoe measures just over 12" so Id say he was right around 25". Was a hell of a fight, had him by one hook in the side when he got it. Surprised I didn't lose him. Just swung by on my way home. Wasn't expecting to even fish.

    Anyone been out ice fishing?

    Going for Birch Lake on Friday, Burnstick on Sat and pretty excited as I haven't gotten out much this year.

    No ice fishing for myself, but got out on the Bow on Monday and managed a little Brown while battling the wind.

    Went out this weekend fly fishing. Got this guy at the end of the day. I only keep one a season for a treat. Was a great fight, big male.

    That's the nicest fishing shack I've ever seen. Where did you catch her?

    Went on a last minute sturgeon fishing trip with my parents. We also tried for salmon the next day, but no luck. Was great time though!

    We got 7! 5 properly hooked and 2 fouled.

    The fish will occasional foul by wrapping themselves up in the line, popping the hook and then rehook themselves someplace other than their mouth. When a fish is fouled they release it immediately to insure least amount of stress. 1 of my 3 fouled and it was a million times harder to bring up the fish, really hurt my back.

    Learned a ton about the fish, its great to see them so well protected. They take a long time to reproduce, about 25 years old which if I remember correctly is about a 6' fish.

    My smallest. The smaller ones have incredible sharp barbs on them.

    The dad caught the biggest - 6' 2" estimated at 140lbs

    Good looking fish No Pulp.

    Going pike fishing on Twin Valley tomorrow. Hoping there are a few giants left this late in the season.

    If you really want treat yourself, hire a guide for the day. I've been fishing all my life, mostly fly fishing smaller lakes. Fishing the Bow was a completely different ball game. I had fished all kinds of places on the Bow and only caught the odd one or two fish. I hired a guide for me and a buddy and we hauled out 20" Browns all day long.
    I don't know of you want to eat Bow river fish. They're feeding off the effluent wastewater everywhere.
