Building Codes for new houses (Architects Perspective)

Can someone list of some of the codes or whatever for a brand new house? Like what is suppose to be in there and where. Like the architects have to place a plug-in socket every 12 feet on the floor map, and the heat vent has to be like by the window. Hope you know what I mean.

Is there a website or anything where I can just see the list? Need a list of what needs to be put in a new house from an architects perspective.
I think CRX88 might know since hes done some architecture courses, but I'm not sure.

I would contact the city of calgary... I believe there are some codes that are standard (i.e. ventilation and outlets) and there are some that are dependant on areas (i.e height, total coverage of lot)

You go to City of Calgary and buy the Calgary Building Code. It's a 4" thick binder filled with all sorts of shit.

Depending on the neighbourhood you are building in, there might also be additional requirements outside and in addition to the building code.

Yea, but does anyone know the regular basic stuff? Like the outlets and stuff. Just the basics.

Hey you need to be a little more specific, what codes exactly are you looking for? I have like building codes from 1988-2004 and each binder is like 400 pages. If you tell me exactly what you are looking for i can check at lunch or after work here.

3g4me, I'm looking for the basics. I don't know how to explain this so I'll just ask a few questions I want to know instead.

How far apart should there be a support column?
How far should an electrical socket be? (I think 12ft.)
