    Default Dumb down a S3

So I need to dumb down the S3 that my wife has as the touch screen is just too much for her - she came to this S3 from a dumb phone about a month ago and only wants to use the S3 to make calls. So what I need is a way to auto-lock the screen after she ends a call and this needs to be simpler than hitting the power button twice to end the call and lock the screen. Also am not interested in jail breaking stuff.
    Will fuck off, again.

Maybe you should just get her a dumb phone and resell the s3 for profit...

Pressing the power button twice isn't dumb enough already?

Your wife, similar too many people, do not like change - Let her learn - learning and adjusting is a natural process. She will eventually adapt to the phone

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

If my mom is able to figure out how to use a smartphone, your wife better be able to adjust. If she doesn't want it for anything other than making calls, why buy a smartphone in the first place? Just sell it and swap to a regular phone.

There's actually a feature in the S3 for this.

Go to settings/Home screen mode. And select Easy Mode.

And delete all the widgets and icons except for the phone and message probably.

But he still needs it to be easier than hitting one button twice.... good luck with that. I suggest a flip phone because you can just close it and that ends the call and locks the screen, all in one motion. Or use payphones, no accidental pocket dialing with those.

Payphones are the easiest, because you don't have to charge them. I've also heard that Telus will install a payphone in your house, only instead of quarters and dimes, you pay a monthly fee for the service. I'm pretty sure the lock all functionality when you place the reciever on the cradle. Pick up the reciever to activate functionality again.

Leave it and let her adapt. Otherwise just give her her dumb phone back. I don't see the point. The S3 is probably HUGE compared to her dumb phone and much more complicated to use.

My wife came from a dumb phone to a Lumia 620. Took her maybe a month to adjust. I just let her use it, and over time, I point out features that she can start using to make life easier. For example, stuff like the calendar and grocery list. She was all about physical record keeping (like physical calendar, making a paper list) but as time went by, I started pointing things out to her, about how much easier it is to just do it on the phone, how I can immediately see changes to her calendar, how she can instantly share photos with the kids while she's travellng, etc.... After a while, she got it. Still a lot of things that she doesn't really think about, but mostly, she's adopted it quite well.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!

Aside from the entertainment value in this thread, it will be a case of her needing to learn to use the phone - have set it up with one screen for now, 15 second screen timeout.

x2 on putting it to easy mode.

also, get rid of all the extra desktop screens and all app icons but just leave the phone app icon dead in the middle, you may need a custom launcher like Nova Launcher for more customizable features.

    ^^ This ^^

Install Nova Launcher. Remove all icons from the screen and set the gestures function in the simplest way. I only use my tablet for watching Netflix in bed, so I set the gesture of "double tapping" anywhere on the screen to launch Netflix. Just do the same to launch the phone app.

remember he said she needs it simpler then "double" pressing power button

so hell will break loose if you tell her to "double" tap the screen cause she will be using her finger nails and nothing will happen and BOOM!!! the phone is gone and done!!!!
