Calgary police are investigating the discovery of two bodies at a residence in the community of Evanston. At approximately 12:50 p.m. Thursday afternoon, officers made the grisly discovery of a woman and a young child in serious medical distress. Both were declared deceased at the scene.

Police have cordoned off an area surrounding the home in the 200 block of Evanspark Circle NW.

According to neighbours, the residents of the home are believed to consist of two brothers and their respective families and as many as five children, ranging in ages from two to ten-years-old, live in the house.

Hopefully it isn't foul play not that it makes it better for them, but would be a shock in Evanston if it was. It is a really young familly oriented community. Other than the occasional vehicle break in there hasn't been crime that i've heard of. We are on the other side of Evanston, but our friends are just down the street in the 100 block.

The CPS Major Crimes Unit and Homicide Unit are leading the investigation.

A suspicious vehicle was seen fleeing the scene. Didsbury RCMP located the suspect vehicle at approximately 3:30 p.m. along the QEII highway. A man has been taken into RCMP custody and is being questioned by officers.

It's down the street from me like 6 houses down. When I got home around 8 and there was still tape surrounding and the evening news was still filming
