Both are open again, no explosive devices were found
This is becoming the new "people getting hit by the train"

Well at crowfoot it was a toolbox left near a bus shelter
Brentwood was called a pressure cooker.

Lets have a "leave a suspicious package day".

EVERYONE go buy a backpack, or something that you can randomly abandon somewhere to get this fucking cowardly douchebags a little desensitized and less afraid of their own shadows.

Now it was a rice cooker and an electronic device
Police are searching for a suspect after temporarily closing down two LRT stations about 8 o’clock Wednesday night.

The two LRT stations in northwest Calgary were closed after police were called in to check out two suspicious packages.

Witnesses said one package left at the Brentwood LRT station looked like a pressure cooker, however it turned out to be a rice cooker.

    Calgary Police investigate suspicious packages

Calgary Police investigate suspicious packages found at two north west LRT stations Wednesday evening.

The other suspicious device at the Crowfood LRT station was initially described as a toolbox, but it turned out to be an electronic device.

Police say the public wasn’t in any danger. They do say the two incidents appear to be related.

Police are looking at LRT surveillance video to see if they can identify a suspect.
If they are searching for a suspect though, will they be charged with 1st Degree Shenanigans

There are 7 billion people on this planet. Are we really going to enact drastic measure, societal controls, police state measures and erode the freedom of citizens every single time of them malfunctions in the head?

Reaction seemed a little over the top.

    Couldn't they:
    a) rewind the security camera, see who dropped/left it there and profile them and their behaviours before they left the item? Probably left by accident. But this will help make a better decision as to what they're looking at.

    b) Move people away for safety reasons.

    c) Scan device for explosive material, get robot, put in special bomb container, blow it up or descard it.

I'm in. People need to get fucking real. If I called the police every time i saw an unattended bag they would never be able to keep up.

We have a few unattended lunch boxes in the fridge quite often in the office. Time to hit the panic button.

Now CFCN has changed their story to a Slow Cooker instead of a Rice Cooker. A rice cooker is at least vaguely similar in look to a pressure cooker, but slow cooker, come on

Out of the thousands of things left behind on bus bench, c-train shelters, on stairs, in buildings, every year in Calgary, not one has blown up yet.

Also, unless they have a credible bomb threat, they can't be treating every single one like it is.
