Exclamation Seeking witness: McKnight/Barlow (video inside)

Just kidding, no witness really needed. This situation is pretty cut and dry. For your viewing pleasure only. I can't re-iterate this enough though, drive safe!

    Backstory:

My brother was driving westbound on McKnight. SUV was turning left onto northbound Barlow from McKnight eastbound on a solid red. Brother t-boned SUV, SUV bounced into white accord waiting at red light, then SUV hit the traffic pole where it rested. SUV driver was distracted looking at his GPS.

    1) Brother's car is most likely totaled. He put quite a bit of money into modifications. Does any one have suggestions on how to get the cost of mods reimbursed? Also, his watch snapped off his left wrist and has stopped working with the exact time of impact (probably from the airbag). Would the watch be covered as well?

Broken watch with missing link. His arm that the watch was on is pretty beaten up too.

WTF is it with retard drivers in this city. I've got one from just a few minutes ago that is going straight to police.

Retard speeds up to run a red and almost hits two cars. All on video with the BlackVue, enjoy $500+ in tickets.

Dude your friends/family have the worst luck. I see why you guys invested in the dash cams.

As for mods, usually for mods if he didn't tell insurance about the mods, they will not cover it.

Does this apply if the SUV guy's insurance is paying and not my brother's?

Ouch, that sucks! Not trying to be a douche, but for the sake of legalities, would the insurance make a case that your brother was speeding? Albeit it was only 8 km over the speed limit and the fact that even if he was going the speed limit, the outcome would've been the same. I'm just curious how insurers will go about this scenario.

Pretty sure they just black book/market value the car. Mods you are on your own.

    dude, that sucks.

as for speeding, the GPS would not hold up in court as there is no way to guarantee it is or was calibrated correctly.

Years ago when I wrote of my boosted Teg I had the option of buying back the vehicle for 10% of the black book value. Stripped all the salvageable parts since it was worth more then 10% Good luck.

People just don't take driving serious these days anymore. Every fuck tard out there think they can push limits, or not put effort in to paying attention because they think other people will adjust for their mistakes...

It's that, and the fact that the city/gov keeps trying to make it easier and easier for shitty drivers to stay on the road.

Instead of trying to make it easier for these idiots to stay on the road, why don't they just get rid of the shitty drivers...

Fuck I get so angry when I think about the drivers in this city.

Glad to hear your bro was ok... Awesome he had a dashcam.

Yes. Your brother should remove all the mods before the insurance company takes the car, or as said he can buy it back for dirt cheap, then remove them.

I feel bad, but I kind of chuckled when I saw the still-lit angel eye rings hanging out the front.

Looked like there was a female passenger in the front seat of the SUV. Can't imagine she walked away unscratched......

The watch, as well as any other contents of your bros car, should be covered. I had a guitar break in a not-at-fault crash and got a new one out of it.

    Damn!

Hope everyone is okay and glad everything is in the dash-cam.

I think the insurance company will ask for the whole footage and determine for themselves.

Doesn't matter if the BMW was speeding or not; Buick proceeding on a red light is an r-tard move.
