Default Get a Note II or wait for the Note III to come out?

I currently have an S3 with Telus, and while it's a good phone, texting can be a PITA. My thumbs are always hitting the wrong button, and I'm thinking the Note would be my answer. I've played with my Bro-in-law's note II and it seems like a sweet phone, but should I wait for the note III? Does anyone know when it will get released? I web browse a lot on my phone as well, and the larger screen would be a bonus too, so that's why I'm leaning that way.

From what I read, the Note 3 is scheduled for release sometime in Q3, 2013.

    Have you tried SwiftKey?

Tried swiftkey, not for me. My thumbs block out the letters, and I still get typing errors. I can get a note with Telus on the dreaded 3 year contract for around $480, that's why I'm considering it.

If I do get it, how do I back it up, so I don't lose my contacts, texts, and such. Does Kies work for that, or do I need something like Titanium backup?

If convenient, I would wait for the Note 3. It should be a beast in hardware specs plus have all the new S4 stuff without waiting for an update and I think it will be an even larger size (if that appeals to you).

Wait for the 3. I got the 2 and love it immensely, but if you can have the best on the block, why not, just wait it out.

the 3 is rumored to have a bigger screen, hopefully they can fit the bigger screen inside of roughly the same dimensions. I find my note 2 to be the perfect size right now...before I got it thought it was massive haha. looking at an iphone now when compared to a note 2 it looks like a small little dumb phone, i don't know how i myself managed to use a phone with a screen that small before.

By the way, note 2 uses swiftkey keyboard from factory

$480 on a 3 year contract?! That retarded.

You can buy a new note 2 on kijiji for like $450ish outright, no contract, and unlocked.

Think a bunch of retailer sell it for about $500 online as well.

I got mine for $380 on Kijiji

I have to pay 380 out for my S3. That's why the price is so high. I decided not to wait, and got the Note II. Great device, typing is so much easier, and I'm loving it.

Did you buy a murse to go with it?

J/k, honestly though, I can't imagine carry'ing something that big around with me, unless I always had a backpack to stick it in.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

It really isn't that big when you think about it. Most phones are 4.7 to 5"...this is 5.5, just an extra half inch.

I had a Galaxy S2 before I got my Note 2. At first it was like "holy shit" but I got used to it after a few days.

I have a Note I and its just fine. I looked at a II but the screen WIDTH is the same - so no real point in upgrading for me.

Not sold on the III as I hope this giant screen craze will end with HUD glasses which means we dont need to carry around a giant battery-draining screen any more.

Titanium only works with rooted phones.

Contacts should sync to google, unless you're one of those people who chose the "store to phone" option. There's SMS backup that syncs to dropbox/box/drive for your texts.

Try swiftkey FLOW. My co-worker has some really big thumbs with long nails and she seems to live off an S3 with flow. The gesture typing takes some getting used to but also swiftkey is smart and learns words/phrases you say regularly.

problem with aftermarket keyboards on the note is that last time i checked, none of them work on the note due to the stylus that is included. The handwriting part just isn't there on the keyboard. I never use that functionality but prefer my phone stock, so the builtin swiftkey is perfectly fine for me
