Mitsu Lancer Evo VIII unveiled.Will it arrive in the new Calgary Mitsu Dealership?

Just received the October issue of Road and Track. The new Mitsu Lancer Evo VIII will go on sale this January in the US. Its engine will produce about 275 hp with the potential for 300 plus hp so that they can counter Subaru's WRX STi when it comes out next year.

I can't wait to see the Lancer if it arrives in Canada. I don't see why we wouldn't get it here since we are getting a Mitsu dealership and the States will be getting the car. Then again, we don't have the latest MR2 :madred: .

In any event, it will be nice to see some crazy cars coming out. Looks like the new 350Z has some serious competition from a couple of 4 doors!

i think canada's safety regulations are more stringent on the crash tests, and the mr-spyder didn't pass unfortunately. which really sucks

OK guys here's the scoop on things so far... I visited the new Hyatt Mitsubishi on the weekend. It's located right between the Hyatt Infiniti dealership and the Range Rover dealership in the Auto circle. They have a temporary shack set up there until they put the building up by next spring.

Right now they just had the 5 Eclipses but today they were supposed to get a shipment including Galants, Lancer and the Outlander. These things add up though... I heard them quote a price of $575/mo plus GST over 5 years for the loaded Eclipse GT! (A bit much if you ask me).

I asked about the EVO VII (duh, of course!) and they gave the typical "we don't know" answer. It hasn't been crash tested in Canada and they have no specs, nothing... 2003 at the earliest they said.

Anyways, I'm hoping that parts will be cheaper from them than Chrysler (aka Satan), and maybe I'll test drive some stuff for fun.

BTW Speed_RaSiR, Mitsu stopped making the 3000GT in 99.
