You can transfer ice cubes from freezer to fridge to extend the life a little.

Start making extra ice cubes early if you think there will be a power outage.

    Noooo what about Lanny!!!
A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

What are the chances of me getting to Highway 22 and west to 22x from Killarney via 37th? (and back) Is Glenmore closed prior to the 14th exit?

All the fairly widespread damage makes me wonder what effect it will have on housing prices in Calgary.

Based on what I saw in sunny side, rental market is going to be even harder to get a place as much of that area is apartments that are under water

Gotta say I'm really impressed with the postal service. Got two packages today totally on time, even amidst all the chaos

I wonder about the East Village/Victoria Park area condos. People would be like, "dude what if a flood happens, any car underground is fucked! Not living here.." It would be cool if those pre-built condos put in some sort of preventative measures in their underground design to minimize flooding.

I want to see how fucked the Arriva underground parkade is. Poor cars.

Hope so. Yesterday I mailed a cheque for my property tax that's due on the 28th.

There is really nothing that you can do when you are surrounded by water. Where do you pump the water to?

Maybe build a weir like what they did near Memorial and Deerfoot to prevent a flood from happening?

Something like a flood gate for the underground parking.

I gotta hand it to Enmax, in 2007 when I was part of their group (as a land surveyor) we were asking the engineers hard questions about the wisdom of repairing 32 Sub (Douglasdale) after the 2005 floods (they should have completely relocated the poles away from the water).

They were adamant that the new poles and their support structures etc. would hold....against another flood.

Now you have areas that will be without power, possibly for weeks.

Depending on high much water you are trying to stop, it's no different than building a dam, can be quite challenging.

Weird. How would the thieves know which houses were empty? It's not like the owners would mark the doors with a big X on their way out or anything

    nvm
You can technically get a ticket for each window that's illegally tinted. So as above, if you're being an ass to the officer (or if he's just an ass to begin with), he can give you two. (or three tickets if you're dumb enough to tint the windshield of your BMW... but if you own a BMW you can't be stupid right?)

Funny, that's the FIRST thing I thought when I heard an X was put on the evacuated houses.
