Downtown is being completely evacuated due to power failures. #yyc

Corroborating tweets state that hotels have lost power, many office buildings losing all services as power helps pump water up and sewage down.

Basically, if you're anywhere in the downtown core, time to to GTFO

Traffic: 9th Ave Bridge between DT and Inglewood has just become fully submerged. Not a viable escape route from DT any more.

Seriously, is there anyone currently browsing the lot for a new car right now? If not, I'd be getting the fuck outta dodge right now.

Damn, and here I am at mount royal doing school, as they have decided it isn't that bad yet....

Wondering if before I decide to go home if I should maybe yank my CAI and just hook up the filter straight to the throttle body to avoid getting stuck when I go through a puddle.

How will all this damage be paid for when insurance does not cover floods?

Did you know that we are the only G8 Country that doesn't offer flood insurance.

Rain has subsided mostly, the lakes and rivers to the north are pretty high, and lakeshore road was closed last night, I think you'll be fine by the 1st

Co-op @ West Springs, lot full

    Sobeys @ Strathcona, lot full

Any Tim Hortons, as slow as they move outside the core - good luck.

Ryan Jestin with City Roads says pretty much any bridge over any waterway has been closed. Stay home! #yyc #yycflood
If you want to get over the river do it soon. Your only chance might be Stoney Trail in the NW.
