AMP is bitching about ice being $20.
First of all, why the fuck do you need ice at a time like this? Secondly, if the demand is up, price goes up to keep supply constant.
AKA life. I can't believe people are so dense.

Any ideas on how long full recovery will be from the water? We're suppose go to calgary to the zoo for a wedding next weekend with lots of out of province family, just looking at the outlook of all this, thanks.
Highly doubt they can clean up in a week's time. Sorry.Originally posted by Matty_10

I attempted to get to work this morning (airport) from Haysboro. Glenmore to Northbound deerfoot flooded just before I got there. Tried turning around and taking blackfoot/17th to deerfoot only for the bridge over deerfoot to be closed. My last effort was glenmore WB to sarcee to 16th WB to Stoney. But it was a parking lot. Heard on the radio the city declared state of emergency and all non-emergency travel should be avoided. I turned around and came home. I could have made to work after another 2 hours probably. But god knows how i'd get home.Originally posted by eblend
So I need to get to the airport for a 8:15AM flight tomorrow morning. I am in Evergreen...how the hell can I get to the airport? Sounds like Deerfoot is closed...as is crowchild across the river, and glenmore as well. Any ideas? What would be the best way to get there...I don't mind driving out of the city in the other direction and getting on some rural road, I just need to make it to the airport for my flight
Anyway, from evergreen I'd go 22x to 52st to 17th Ave EB to Stoney then country hills to the aiport. Leave early lol.

Sometimes, you just have to cut your losses. If you REALLY need ice, you'll pay $20.Originally posted by Super_Geo

It's not gouging; it's the law of supply-and-demand.
Mostly to keep hoarders out.

Yeah, don't bother. if you're warm and dry now, stay there. If you're continuing to breath keep doing whatever you're doing.Originally posted by ricosuave

Perhaps, but mostly the consuming public seems to be thinking it's gouging...Originally posted by flipstah

This is the point where the queensland mcdicks would get arseloads of good press by saying "free ice"

People are offering their homes to complete strangers, and you wouldn't give someone ice who didn't have $20.
Brutal.

FYI: Not sure if it's been mentioned but Lowe's near Sunridge Mall has pallets of water. $3 for 24. Wasn't even that busy.
