From what I've read Amazon owned DPReview for quite some time now, 2007 I think. Didn't know this either, makes sense though since they are also based in Seattle and lots of Amazon buy links on the sites.
Also, the DPReview crew must be on the list of 9000 employees that Amazon announced to be laying off.

To be honest though, DPReview hasn't been my main source of photography information for years, even the site and forum, I never really go to it unless I'm researching something which is not often anymore either.

Was curious to see what was going to happen to Chris and Jordan, if they were going back to TCS but looks like they are going to Petapixel instead.

Cellphone and computation photography killed this hobby.

When Amazon picked this up, everyone and their mother bought a DSLR and future is bright.

Now giant like Nikon only have 1/3 revenue from 10 years ago.

Maybe that's why film has had such a resurgence. Or maybe hipster vintage trend. Tough call.

Going to Japan in a couple months, hoping to find some camera deals.

Yeah DPReview has never really been my source of photo info since like the early 2000's when there weren't many options. While I can appreciate how technical their equipment analysis can be, in practical terms none of that is really relevant anymore since the technology is so good, you're really splitting hairs. Plus I always found the format of their forums really annoying and the people who participate even more annoying.

The only DPReview content I regularly followed was Chris and Jordan on Youtube and that was more for entertainment than anything.

Oh that's cool. I thought they were gonna go branch off on their own. PetaPixel isn't even on my radar so I always forget about them. Maybe Chris and Jordan were hired to help grow their brand haha

I wouldn't agree with that. With content creation being so widespread on Youtube, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc there's even more need for capable photo and video equipment now if you want to stand out.

I was reading an article about a week or two ago that said there's even a resurgence with old point and shoot digital cameras now cause kids find it appealing to use simple devices just meant for photos "like their parents did" haha

When I saw the title I thought they were sending the band U2 to the edge of space and thought I hope they fucking die.

I know we have a few Nikon shooters here, anyone planning on getting the Nikon Zf?

Love the style of classic Nikons, so size wise this should be more similar to the vintage Nikons than the bulky Df
