Boston is a notoriously slow starting playoff team. Hell, they nearly lost to the Leafs last year in seven. This isn't Toronto they're up against, it's the best coached team in hockey and the Red Wings are faster than Boston... a lot faster.

Nine times out of ten I'd say physicality can combat speed in the playoffs... unless you're playing Detroit. Detroit is that odd one out of ten team that doesn't ever engage in a physical type of game... essentially, you can't make them lose a type of game they simply don't play.

Don't get me wrong, Boston is clearly the favourite and is a massively powerful team... but if Detroit can steal game one or two... I think they'll be able to win. The one thing I will say is this isn't as uneven a match up as people seem to think it is.

    My $0.02.
I wasn't trying to call you crazy at all...I was of the same mindset but think boston still is too powerful of a team as much better goaltending. Howard looked good in game 1. Looking forward to see if they can carry the momentum into game 2.

Chicago is a franchise full of talented, but bitchy little entitled whiners. Even Quenville is a child. Bickell and Seabrook should be gone next game... Seabrook should be out for the remainder of the series. Good riddance. I've never liked that team.

Brendan Smith was just trying to start with Chara. I would have loved to see it except it would have meant Chara had to sit for 5 minutes.

^You're not doing it right. You're supposed to hop on the Bruin's bandwagon for Iggy.

I give up on Chicago if they lose tomorrow.
But I guess that's the whole point of making picks in the beginning of the season. If I could change, I would actually pick Sharks to go far for the West.

Boston can go to hell. I love Iggy and want him to succeed, but it's not my fault he chose to sign with a douche team like Boston. I hope they lose.

Something in my gut tells me Tampa might still win a few games... I don't know though... maybe I've totally misread Montreal this post season. That disallowed goal was a joke.

L.A. worries me... do they start Quick on home ice? San Jose is playing way above their level. L.A. did lose their first two games last season to St. Louis... but not like this. If they lose one game at home, they're out... that being said... they're an insane home team and they're usually an amazingly resilient bounce back team... Seven fucking goals, though... Jesus... :S

Holy shit, 7 games for Cooke.

    http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=450237

WILD'S COOKE SUSPENDED SEVEN GAMES FOR KNEEING

Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke has been suspended seven games for kneeing Colorado Avalanche defenceman Tyson Barrie during Game 3 of their series on Monday.

If the suspension is not fully served in this year's playoffs, it will continue on next season. The Avalanche have a 2-1 series lead on the Wild with Game 4 on Thursday.

Cooke has 48 hours to appeal the decision, first to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman then if Bettman upholds six games or more, he then has seven days to file an appeal to a neutral arbitrator.

The incident occurred in the second period when Cooke and Barrie were involved in a knee-on-knee collision.

The suspension is the sixth of Cooke's career. After the incident he was assessed a two-minute minor for kneeing.

Coach Patrick Roy said after the Wild's 1-0 overtime win that Barrie has a medial collateral ligament injury in his left knee and will need four to six weeks to recover.

The offer of an in-person hearing gave the NHL the right to suspend Cooke for five games or more.
