Brakes Squealing on 2012 IS350C

Car was bought brand new, and recently (19,000kms) the brakes are squealing when braking.

Took it to Lexus, they looked at the brakes and said there was nothing wrong with them.

I was adamant that the brakes shouldn't be squeaking and squealing when they have such good life left but they said that because the IS350 is a 'sports' car that this is nothing out of the ordinary. They mentioned I could upgrade my brakes for $900 and that they don't make as much noise.

Am I out to lunch or does that seem very strange?

Why would a brand new car with good life left on the brakes make such a god awful sound?

Because clearly is race car

beyond that it could be the pad compound (i.e., try a different set of brake pads that have better squeel resistance), you could try some anti-squeel grease on the face of the piston or try using a file to bevel the leading edge of the brake pad ~1/8'' (to prevent the leading edge from digging so hard)

Brakes do make noise, and they do use a fairly aggressive brake compound on that car out of the factory. Try re-bedding them and see if the noise goes away. I'll PM you some instructions.

Normal. My C63 sounds like a city bus.

Don't want squeeky brakes, buy a Corolla next time.

You need to brake harder.

Seriously, do a few hard braking runs at night when nobody is aroumd, and the squeal will go away.

But seriously - I'll do some hard braking runs and hopefully that helps.

It's just embarrassing sometimes especially when the top is down and I roll up to a light and the brakes squeal. Always get weird looks

My IS350 has never had brake squeal. That said I do brake hard and am on my third set of fronts.
