I like what Hartley is doing, splitting the starts based on performance. MacDonald had really impressed me this year, but Ramo has also started against some real powerhouse teams, I don't fault his play against Washington or San Jose at all. Splitting it seems to be the way to go at least until late November.

They say it takes about 15-20 games for a player playing in Europe as long as Ramo did to re-adjust to North American ice as well so that can be a factor.

But hey I also thought Joni Ortio would be with us this season, but he got assigned to the farm teams farm team, and plays with the Alaska Aces now. So what the hell do I know about goalies

If the flames sent Monahan down, it would kill his confidence. considered how well he played and it doesnt earn him a spot would set him back mentally.

They need to ride the momentum and keep him going

I'm not sure how people can already have an opinion formed that Joey Mac is better than Ramo. Ramo has played three games, with his first two being completely left out to dry by his team.

Make no mistake Ramo is our guy and he will be given every opportunity to become our clear #1. MacDonald is a career backup that's here in case Ramo blows his chance.

And zero chance Flames send Monahan down.

Do any of you guys see alot of Kipper in Ramo?

Watching Ramo play he looks like a solid goalie, and resembles Kipper quite a bit, similar styles of play and even similar look. Apparently Kipper was Ramo's favorite goalie growing up and I think he emulated him quite a bit.

I like that we can go back and forth between Mac and Ramo, we havent been able to do that in years. Any time Kipper would have a rest we would lose because the players didn't have any faith in their backup goalie. I think that has changed now that the players see they can win with either guy between the pipes. That being said I think Ramo will be our #1 guy going forward but they will still play a similar number of games. Its not just in goal either, I love the way Hartley has the guys playing. Give 110% every shift and play a run and gun style that is entertaining but also seems to work with the people we have.

I hope cammy has a big season so he can be traded for value at the deadline, keep packing up the future talent!
