Stampede Parking

Is the parking rates in the downtown core still the same during the Stampede? Do all the lots become a shitshow?

If you mean just general downtown parking, like on street or impark or vinci, the prices don't change for stampede in Downtown. How ever, if you mean parking right near the Stampede Grounds, well the pricing there is like the stock market, rises and falls as the day goes on.

Strong reccomendaton for anyone going to the ground NOT to try parking near the grounds. Take the train or one of the special express busses.

It's very busy down there, why put yourself through all that stress? I was on the North stampede express bus yesterday, and as always, a hassle-free experience.

We went down on Saturday, parked at the Humpty's for $20.

Traffic was light, and considering for a family of 4, the cost is almost equal to a round trip on transit, and any additional cost is worth the convenience.

Went on Saturday, was easy/quick to find spot.

Parked in the surface lot right beside the overpass/stairs by the train station, $20.

The underground lot beside Loungeburger is only $15 too FYI.

I would just park somewhere fairly close and huff er 10 minute walk.

There are quite a few condo buildings still without parking, due to the flood - that are adjacent/close to the grounds.

The city advised, but I will repeat, these parking spots are needed by those condo owners who can't park underground.

I'm sure they'd really appreciate it.

There is also underground parking behind the sunterra in that area. That is where I parked last year. Love the underground as you don't have to worry about hail, or coming back to a scalding hot seat/steering wheel.

There's $15 parking at the City of Calgary Manchester Building across from the cemetery. They also claim that proceeds go towards flood relief. Being that this is a City of Calgary building, I'd trust them a bit more with funds actually going towards flood relief. It's about a 10~15min walk to the Erlton entrance. There's also shuttle service available.

If you have 4 people going, driving is the way to go. $3 pp on the CTrain is $24 return. It's $25 to park in the lot right beside the Saddledome.
