Arrow Marda loop weekly car meet pics.

I heard a bunch of people go to the Marda Loop safeway parking lot for a car meet every Tuesday, since i live in that area, I thought I'd swing by.
There were more people coming, but I dont really like socializing with that 40-50 grey haired business professional type demographic, so I left after snapping these pics. Another vintage Ferrari and some 1930's convertible were just pulling up as I was leaving. Probably more still, but I left at 7:10.
Apparently these guys all meet every Tuesday there at 7pm.

I just thought I'd post this in case anyone else wants to check it out.

They probably view Beyond meets as how we view Barlow Tim Horton meets

It might be, but he had the top down when he pulled up, that would be damn well built kit car if that was the case, looked like the real deal.

^ Yeah that just REALLY wasn't my scene. I had literally nothing in common with anybody there, with nobody to really say anything to, I just left.

Yes what a nice car, most people wouldn't know what it was but I imagine it's one of those ultra rare cars...

A rare car indeed and possibly with significant race history (Mille Miglia, etc.) These are the cars that Enzo Ferrari raced before he started making cars. Online I found prices between $1.2 million and $4.2 million. I think it largely depends upon the provenance of each car. The cool thing is the current owner drives it and drives it hard. He even does road rallies with it. In the rain, in the snow, doesn't matter.

Amazing thing about Calgary is there are a ton of special cars you won't see most anywhere else.

Fred is a great guy, easy to chat with, and a true car guy.

Ran into him at the race track once years ago, didn't know who he was but he wanted to check out my 'gmw' LS1 powered BMW. Must have talked for 1/2 hour under the hood. Ask him what he was driving which he responded oh the Ferrari F40...

Ended up going out for a bunch of laps in the F40, amazing.

If you ever get a chance go have a tour of his collection...
