Quick cruise out to cochrane! The bugs are insane right now, glad I wasn't wearing a open face helmet...my buddy on the other hand wasn't as lucky.

Get some pledge and that shit will come off easy .... 10000+ for full face. Its like driving without a windshield IMO. I've taken small stones off the plastic before.

Yup...I couldn't imagine not wearing a full face...

When I had my wreck the helmet was all scraped up down the side and everything...had I even been wearing one of the 3/4 helmets I would be missing a lot of skin.

I don't understand how people wear the beanie helmets...I mean really...what are the odds of you flying off the bike and landing like a lawn dart, and then not rolling after that.

A few years ago I was riding thru the Millarville area and encountered some strange bug clouds. They were small (kind of like fruitflys) but there were enough to literally black out my visor within a couple hundred feet. Luckily there was nobody following on that stretch of road because I had to stop immediately. I stopped 3 more times on that section of road to clean my visor.

I dunno man, every time I go riding out of the city, I get bugs. But maybe you're right if you got that many just going to cochrane.

I always need to wipe down my helmet before heading back home, haha.

Yup this was actually one of the reasons i went with AGV.. I Couldn't imagine riding without a full face , I cringe at the thought of loosing my chin to pavement..

Did two dumb things. As fast as rg500 would go outside Shelby Montana. Cop's quote "by the second reading at 110, I could see daylight under your rear tire". Waste of evironmental resource ticket.

Later that trip went without a helmet during day. Bad idea. Neat for a block.

Later that trip, big wasp, while wearing full face, was like a bat to the face.

I got hit with a rock in the face wearing a beanie last year, hit me right in the forehead between my sunglasses and helmet, worst pain ever.... swore I'd never wear one again....and I haven't.

beanies are the dumbest fucking idea ever, but then again, when the paramedics turn them upside down, it literally becomes a bucket to scoop the riders brains into.

then again, there can't be much in the terms of brains to collect if the rider chose to wear a beanie.

I love my scorpion transformer. Full face helmet, and I can change it to a 3/4 easily if I am doing in town riding. Best part? the flip down "top gun" shades built in!

I'd have Kenny Loggins on repeat for the entirety of every trip if I owned that helmet

Thats it, I'm getting one of these. Tired of yelling at people through the chin guard and makes going into a store/bank less awkward.

You give any of those a good smack on the chin and it flips right up. ABHC doesn't cover dental work and I like my teeth.

DOT rating is a joke, snell rated helmets only for me.

Snell 2000 ratings have been rejected in some places in Europe because they make the lid too hard where as DOT and ECE ratings allow the helmet to break to absorb energy (as opposed to your head).

The latest SNELL M2010 ratings have been adjusted though, for more realistic testing.

    Good article here:

^ I dont buy Snell helmets because there is a much higher likelihood of there being brain damage in the event of an accident due to how hard they are. I made a HUGE post about this in this section before.

In short, BSA is a much better school of thought, as you're a lot less likely to suffer brain damage since the helmets are designed to destruct as needed to absorb the impact so it doesn't get transferred to your brain.

And yes, DOT is an absolute joke. The $50 full face helmets from Walmart are DOT certified. What does that tell you?
