    Also, 130mph is what, 205km/h?

As somebody said, aerodynamics plays a big part. And by easily, I meant anything with some sort of aero work (think the corvette, IIRC from my history of corvette books, they were able to hit 150mph by the late 50's/early 60's).

Don't hate. I'm just saying, GPS was used. I don't know how accurate GPS is for speed measurement. The only reason I doubt the claim is because the car SHOULD have a speed limiter on it.
    Total derail .
Actually stock B/RB heads are more suited to a 383 than a 440.

I have no doubt, still doesnt get around the fact that head designs from the 60's were pretty garbagy/inefficient.

The Malibu is a fair bit different of a car, but still.

I don't think I could hate anyone more
Than that guy in the YouTube vid.

Of topic again, I bet Dave still wished had that car!
A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

Well yes and no. The 906 and 452 have a lot of flow characteristics similar to LS engine heads. Garbage on a big inch motor yes, on a 383 not so bad, head flow very well suited to that displacement.
Maybe we should start a B/rb thread in the performance section or move to PM's.

Chevrolets like most cars are limited at 155mph/249 km/h.

Due to cosine error, the reading they got should be lower than actual speed. That's roughly 1% or 2% if the cop was in a good position (but can be much worse), which means the cop is effectively claiming that it was going 257-259 at least. So something isn't right there.

I harken back to the good old days when C_Dave45 was being yelled at by a madman clerk. This new line of Challenger information leaves out mention of double album 8-track tapes being eaten on a monthly basis, pistol grip shifters and lug nuts needing to be tightened counterclockwise.

C_Dave45 how did that shower glass Gong Show workout for you in the end?

what an awful vid. and read the top comments, it was clearly on a dyno for the "top speed" run.

I don't doubt it at all. some odd years ago when the rx7 was making about 250rwhp I did 265km/h, noticed a little lift but not too bad for a 25year old car.

Not too shabby of a 1/4 mile time, especially with gears taller then the Eiffel tower. God damn I wish you'd never of sold that... frick....

Yeah you need the actual chipped key fob in the car, other wise you cant start it, and if you go anymore then lets say 20 or so feet away from it while its running, it'll shut off. Not too sure on the exact distance as Ive never tried on mine, but.

Lol, yeah, if I found out some sales guys at a dealership did that with my car before I bought it, I'd be livid. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost their jobs for that, the name of the dealership & their faces are impossible to dispute.

Pure BS. 2013 Malibu only has a top speed of 118mph or 190kph.

Had it as a rental a few weeks back, there is no way I want to take this thing over 100mph.

I have done 250kph+ in my old '86 Jaguar XJ12 back in the late '90s on the TC.

But that was with a V12 engine freshly rebuilt and broken in.

Do I think a Malibu could do it? Not really, not without a bunch of mods and a limiter removal.

and the above was a lie, I have never travelled higher than the posted speed limits. This was all bravado and e-peen.
