It's got a couple of things that'll need to be sorted out.
1) brakes SUCK. I'll bleed them this week, but might just need to do a do-over at some point. It's a bit tough coming from <2000lb cars to this.
2) interior smells funny. Like a bit of dampness + modeling clay is the best I can describe it as. It's getting cleaned by someone this week.
3) Cruise control doesn't work, gotta get that fixed
4) ac needs a recharge
5) the right rear wheel bearing may be toast... or it may be the shittacularily old crappy tires on it.
6) bit of surface rust on the unibody. nothing to worry about, it's an old car, but you can definitely tell it's from Ontario. Taking things apart for the first time may be difficult
I'm ordering H&R springs for it today, as well as some spacers for the stock rims. It's a bit late in the season to be ordering summer tires/rims with winter rapidly approaching, so I think more lows with flush-ish stock rims will be good enough for now.
I'm also seriously considering getting the seats redone. 20 year old leather, while ok, mostly sucks lol.
Awesome car. I still want to own an Audi Quattro. The locking diff has got to be fun in the snow!
I don't know if the locking diff works on this one or not. I haven't really gotten around to trying it, once I get on a gravel road I'll give it a whirl.Originally posted by bspot

Went out for some "before" photos in downtown Edmonton (I only have the crappy quality ones that facecrack destroyed)
The pearl white paint is awesome, didn't even wash the car before picture taking commenced
And a friend demonstrating how amazing the 90's was:

If you want to ask her husband (the photog), be my guest. Otherwise, keep it in your pants guys
Ordered H&R's today. Luckily, right before I pulled the trigger, I found out that using H&R sport springs off a Audi 200 20 valve turbo quattro should give me a total of 2" of drop vs the correct H&R's at 1.3". As an added bonus, the 200 springs should ride a bit better. Have to get shortened bilsteins in the spring, but that's the awesome thing about european cars, already shortened bilsteins with fairly aggressive valving are available from tirerack.com already. Score!
Didn't hurt that the Audi 200 springs were $75 cheaper
Some more pictures from around Edmonton. As the one from Walterdale Park shows IMO, there is a reason I've been getting a lot of compliments on the car, it presents VERY well.

Nice UrS. I had seen that one in salmon arm. If it was a 92-spec I would've grabbed it for sure. Enjoy it! If you need parts, I have some bits at home still.

The X5 i bought earlier this year really is FULLY LOADED though not a single option missing including infrared night driving
also, the entire UrS community is @ forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6 . You should introduce yourself if you plan on keeping it.

And yes, quattroworld is awesome besides the horrific website design!
if you're running H&R 29800's you'll either need to igor mod your stock camber plates or run 2bennett adjustable camber plates.
If the diff lock triangle turns orange, and a green light appears on rear axle image, and the ABS-OFF light appears on the dash, then the diff lock should be working correctly. Just turn in a tight circle and you'll be able to tell immediately.
If your (!) light comes on when you depress the brake pedal multiple times rapidly, you'll probably need a new brake pressure accumulator (brake bomb).
If you decide to get rid of those stock FUCHS, let me know.
Also:
Checking out some of the builds on Quattroworld might change your opinion about 'illmotion'-ing the UrS4! A properly wheel and tire combo with the right suspension tuning will completely change how you feel about the car handling. Add some 993tt brakes & floating rotors and you'll never worry about stopping either.

I found the template for the Igor mod, definitely looks like I'll be going that way.
I don't think I'm "ill-motioning" the car, and it certainly won't be hellafucked, but I had mixed feelings about how little drop the H&R sports provide as that front fender gap is all sorts of ridiculous.
Worse comes to worse, I'll purchase the regular H&R's in the spring when I get the shortened bilsteins.
And I'll never get rid of the stock rims, way too rare. Everyone and their mother wants them
Lol illmotion isn't just stanced cars, time for a new witty pejorative... as for the car not my style but looks pretty mint, good job
I just bought this car from HiTempguy1 - excellent to deal with - and I am having fun learning more about these cars. I am having a new suspension installed - new Bilsteins on all 4 corners but only the sport springs for a 1.25" drop. I just couldn't bring myself to lower it more so if you know anyone interested in the other springs I have let me know. I also had new front top mounts, new strut bearings, new lower control arms and tie rods. Thanks to Arlyn for letting me "borrow" his new URS4 suspension parts and used MAF. It would have taken me a couple of weeks to get everything delivered and his parts get me on the road quicker.Originally posted by HiTempguy1

As for the car, there are a few more things to figure out but overall the inspection came back saying the car was in good shape. They told me to replace the front brake lines as they were wore down to the nylon. Fortunately these aren't too expensive.
I've been reading the owners manual and am pleasantly surprised at the interesting options these cars have. In addition to the usual things (power everything, leather, cruise, tilt, climate control, etc) the car has the following:
Heated windshield and headlight washers
Adjustable washer jets
An Intensive Windshield Washer - a secondary reservoir and system for winterized washer fluid
Heated front AND rear seats
Locking Differential
ABS OFF button
Front AND Rear fog lights
Built in Phone (more comical than useful now)
Ski sack
Michelin PAX system(run flat)
I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes and drives this winter.
