    Default Decent work shirts?

    Ok, help me out...

Nobody to buy clothes for me again and I'm fucking lost

Need to restock on some decent work shirts... Not suit & tie kinda shirts - turning wrenches but need to look half decent to make sales and the occasional meeting kinds of work shirts...

Dickies work shirts suck - worse than walmart crap (usually rip the armpits out of them within a dozen washes).

But carharrts at 75-90$/shirt... Not quite enough for that.

So who sells something button up, with a collar, better than walmart quality? Don't say marks, was at workworld and ... ?jobsite? today - nothing that fit the budget / me...

Oh, and probably should state - I'm up in the 220lb range - real XL sizes - not these girly mens sizes that wouldn't fit my <2yr old

    Thanks in advance,

Go to Lands End www.landsend.com and go into Corporate Wear.

Look up Men's Regular Short Sleeve Basic Blend Twill Shirt or Men's Regular Short Sleeve Performance Twill Shirt

I ordered them more than once online. The long sleeve looks great, casual but business. Way more formal than usual for me, and the short sleeve is awesome. They hold up very well.

And I'm 6'4" 240lb and the ones I chose, XL-Tall fit great and look great in my opinion. Then again, maybe don't take fashion advice from a guy that would buy logo'd shirts so he could write off his clothes, lol.

Not all XL's are created equal.

Problem with ordering stuff online is that if it doesn't fit you have to return it. Buying locally or in store is the best way to do it.

And as the OP I'm always looking for good comfortable work shirts too and its even harder for me because I hate pockets on my shirts.

Go to winners, they have everything. I'm sure you can find at least a couple things in there

Winners sucks - Yeah not after flames or patterns which cause epileptic seizures (I may have strolled through a few stores this week)

My comment about sizing - was more along the lines of don't say american eagle etc - places where they seem to focus on smaller framed persons... I own one hoodie from them - it's a 3xl and it fits tight so I never wear it...

Forgot about landsend - but would rather try on; since can't exactly return to sears anymore...

Go to costco. They always have stock of no-iron dress shirts around $25. Throw them into the washer and dryer and wear. When u need to throw one out it was only $25.

I shop at Marks, but I do find it that from one Marks to the other the inventory can vary quite a bit. I usually find what I need in Airdrie but sometimes I have to hit up the one in Beacon Hill or Crowfoot...

I've never really used non-iron shirts

that being said, I've been told Brook Bro's & Charles Tyrwhitt are the 2 best...

I own and owned alot of decent shirts made of decent materials from BOSS, BB, Canali, Jil Sanders, BB etc...

though the cloth, the fit, the thread count is very nice, I find that especially the thin ones, you see the creases almost just a few hours in on wearing them.

I on the other hand, have a couple Resistol shirts (i'll cowboy it up with a shirt, boots & a belt with a good suit) which are "non-iron" and they stay sharp and crisp all day. IN FACT good enough to throw into a dryer for a couple minutes and they're good as new for a next wear.

Once you find the exact shirt you want, forget about buying it in Calgary. Note the exact name, size, etc and Google the USA for a better deal. Easy to save 50% by buying smart like we all do for auto parts, electronics, etc. I shop around in Calgary, take photos from my iPhone and search online for a better deal. Once I find a shirt, under ware, socks, etc I like, I order a half dozen to a dozen. I hate thinking about what to wear, hate clothes shopping almost as much. If I could wear a uniform 24/7/365 I'd be fine with that.

For example, Carhartt at half off Canadian prices:
