Car Prowlers Dump Ashes of Deceased On Street
We need your help to find the person(s) responsible for car prowlings in the southeast that resulted in the ashes of a deceased person being thrown on the street.
Sometime in the early morning hours of Friday, August. 2, 2013, police were called to the area of 10 Street S.E. and Wapta Rise S.E. for reports of car prowlings. A variety of vehicles along the street had been targeted and a number of items were taken.
A white truck was among the targeted vehicles. Nothing of monetary value was stolen from within the truck, however a green velvet pouch was taken containing the ashes of the victim’s late 19-year-old daughter who passed away four years earlier from a vehicle collision. The ashes were dumped on the pavement and the pouch tossed to the side. A small amount of the ashes were recovered, however due to rain during the early morning hours, the majority were washed away.
A number of residents reported seeing a group of three female teenagers, approximately 14 to 17 years old, in the area and are believed to have more information about this incident.
Investigators believe one of the girls may go by the name ‘Sarah’ and is described as Caucasian, about 5 ft tall, weighing around 100 lbs, with a slim build, shoulder-length blonde hair and a right nose piercing. She was wearing grey sweat pants, a light grey zip-up hoodie and sneakers. She was also carrying a sports tote bag.
The second girl was described as Caucasian, 5’5” tall, roughly 100 lbs, with brown hair and wearing matching dark grey sweat pants and zip-up hoodie. She was also carrying an athletic tote bag.
The third person who may have information is described as female, Caucasian, with black hair, roughly 5 ft tall and weighing approximately 100 lbs.
