    Default September trail run

    Date and Time: September 22nd
Meeting Location: Mclean Creek Store 9:30
    Who's Leading: TBD
    Who's Tail Gunning: TBD
    Expected Number of Trucks:TBD
    Expected Time of Return:TBD
Difficulty Expected: Will update with trail conditions
Equipment Needed: Recovery Straps, Shovels,Front and Rear tow points, 31"+ AT or MT tires plus a spare,
    RSVP List

Let's get something started for those interested in a Beyond trail run.

I will update this with the time and location as we get a better idea of what's going on.

The first problem is that most of the trails in either McLean or Waiporous are no longer stock friendly. We'll have to decide what is suitable for the whole group or, as Humz mentioned, we can split the group in 2.

List your name with the kind of truck you have and we can go from there.

I'm sure we can flex for a Sunday if it's easier for everyone. Let's see where this goes.

I'm hoping for Garth to be ready for a run this year. Cross fingers!

As for tow points, where would you normally put them? I was thinking where the bumper connects to the chassis so the force is centered around there.

    235/80/16's are ~31in. I think.

I'd like to Come along, but am a total newb to off roading.

My tacoma's stock suspension wise, but I'm sure I can find a set of 33s to throw by then.

    What do you guys think?

If you run 33's with the stock suspension on your tacoma you are going to rub like crazy offroad. You need to run a lift to clear the 33's

I also might be in depending on how rough the trail is going to be.
    06 tacoma trd offroad
ome lift, full skids and 32 inch all terrains.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

    I'm interested.
Especially if we have a novice group (I've only been out a couple times and am not heavily modded)
WJ: 2" lift, 31" ATs, 3x lsd, skids, f+r tow pts

Just a heads up if you guys are going to the falls there is now a water hole that will swamp stock vehicles... Drove through it without knowing and my quad was floating while I was walking with water up on my chest (gotta love waiters).

Plus the trails have gotten a lot more difficult now with all the wash outs.
    Hittin' every hole

Is it? How's the tranny holding up on your rig?

I'm probably in for this run. Then I'll decide if I'm going to continue with this whole offroading thing or not....

^ Probably in better shape than mine.

I engaged OD once; sounds like it's going to just explode any minute and leave a bunch of gears on Deerfoot.
