Was driving home from work tonight and Deerfoot was messed. Decided to take peigan to 52 to 17th to Stoney and was surprised to see Peigan open to Stoney! Took it north all the way home. How far south is it open now? I must have missed the memo that Stoney was opening
that section of 22x where they are changing it to stoney trail must be such a pain in the arse for people that live down there. Also where they are doing all that shit to deerfoot - glad i dont live in the deep south.

All the signs say Fall 2013 to have it complete all the way until just before MacLeod TR
Up until two months ago I lived in Cranston, the construction was a massive pain in the ass. I work on 130th SE, 22x-deerfoot to work, normally a 5 minute drive turned into 15-20. I'd cut through Mackenzie Lake instead.
the traffic pattern from 52nd to macleod on 22x changes almost daily it seems like sometimes. I can't wait for it all to be open though...going to shave a bunch of time off my drive to the new facility in Ogden, even just getting rid of the 60 zone is going to be a big enough improvement, let alone getting rid of all of the traffic lights.
I was noticing yesterday that they've got the paving done to a couple of the exit ramps at Deerfoot/22x.

The last time I heard was they are on time and on budget. Everything is scheduled to open on the month of October (I read it somewhere). Also, the road from 52nd street towards east of Stoney trail then north are all pretty much finished (may just need pavement) so technically, they can open that anytime! I am not sure though if glenmore interexchange as I have not been around that area!
I live in Auburn Bay (we just moved here last April); the traffic actually doesn't bother me and I am quite excited to have this project be completed. I didn't know there was already a plan for the Macleod area! Can't wait for the constructions be done lol.

That's slated to start 2014, then this is the rest so far, but no plans (That I've seen) to start it. I'm sure phase 2 of planning will start once the SE portion is finished
Can't wait for it to open in the fall. I won't use it daily but hopefully it'll take some traffic off deerfoot so I can get to/from work (Airport) with less hassle. Or if Deerfoot is gridlocked it's another route I can take, albeit a longer one.
Not sure how bad Glenmore between Deerfoot and Stoney will be though.

Follow those signs people. I slowed down to 50 going northbound on stoney after getting on from Peigan and some fucktard passed me and gave ME the finger for going 50. Next thing 15 seconds later he's pulled over for going 80. Enjoy the speed fines double charge douchebag!
The major problem right now the city has failed at is getting traffic TO stoney.
Yeah it's great to have a free flowing road, but if it takes you 2 hours to get to it you have defeated the purpose.
I contracted a young japanese 3D artist to render a computer simulated 3D animation showing how fast traffic would flow with a second lane.
Here is what the young man came up with.
Keep in mind he's still tweaking his render settings and it looks fairly realistic but still some problems with the animation.
Keyframes need work.
anyway,
