Was at sunshine on sat and castle for closing weekend on Sunday (which got 20cm over the last couple days). Both were good days and was making some fresh lines at both places.
Finally spent a day locally, at Louise over the weekend.
Found some first tracks earlier in the day, off Far 7 & into Saddeback. Then the short hike above Rock Garden.
I have a couple RCR Tickets (Kicking Horse & Fernie are the only two that are open).
$70 for both or $40 each.

Got out to louise yesterday, was pretty nice on the front side and spent most of my day ripping high speed laps on mens DH and then through the park. The XL line was alot of fun despite a little dusting that made the speed weird at the beginning of the day along with an uphill wind, but still alot of fun.

My season is done haha. Getting too expensive!
What do you do in the off-season to keep the skills fresh? Longboard or skateboard?
What? You gotta have priorities! Sell the condo and the car to pay for snowboarding! Over the summer you can longboard if you want but really nothing replaces snowboarding... It's just not quite the same thing in terms of skills used. You can do squats to at least keep your legs in shape. When the snow is gone it's rock climbing season.Originally posted by flipstah

I would agree long boarding is fun but aside from the moving sideways part not hugely transferable. Riding a bike however can do wonders for keeping your legs in tip top shape for shredding.Originally posted by mazdavirgin

Also what are you thinking cheaper spring rates should be kicking in after this weekend might as well back in as many days while you can!
Don, its all about wakeboarding! Also there can be some good deals for riding this time of year, last year they were doing $40 or $50 full day tickets at louise for the last few weekends

I agree with wake boarding. I snow boarded for 5 years and went back to skiing but since I wake board every summer. I'm not awful when I strap the snow board back on!
Went to Norquay yesterday(snowed 20cm in the last 2), then went to marmot today and tmr. And now I hit my goal of skiing all the alberta mountain resorts. Also have skied 40 days so far.
Louise got hit hard yesterday night, 24 cms in 24 hrs.

Anyone else buy the $199 Nakiska season pass? Not the best hill but I think I'll get my money's worth.
Whenever I went to Nakiska, the hill was always bare and icy. I'd rather go to Sunshine around that distance.Originally posted by megavolt

^yeah that's how i feel with nakiska too, the only time it's worth to go there is when there's fresh snow otherwise it's icy as hell.
still for $200 it might not be bad at all.. that's like 2 days at sunshine.
save on driving time and gas too
Ya it's not like you're committed to skiing Nakiska with a $200 commitment (not like other season passes). Would go when conditions are good or situations where I just want to get out for a half-day or something.
bought one! will be good, more snowboarding time for me next season without having to pay $100 every time
hopefully this will motivate me to finally go learn ski as well.
stupid question but are they mailing the card to your home or where do you pick it up?
Get it at the RCR office or pick it up at the hill your first day.
