the only time i hung goggles is when i was driving a taurus so people wouldnt think i stole my grandmother's car... and that turned out to be a mistake cause it dried all the foam out and i got bits of foam shit all over my face when i used them

had a buddy that use to rock the onesie, he is a damn good skier and everyone knew him at the hill by it, but he eventually ditched it cause when he farted he would gas himself out and it was also super hot since it didnt really breath

im just a dick in general... nothing to do with rider level

but i also stopped wearing a helmet since i dont really push it anymore and with the shape my neck is in its preferred for sure... my goggles did come with some sweet headphones too (VZ's with the skull candy headphones that clip on)

but i only spend 1.5hrs in the bar, and thats normally thanks to the shitty service at trappers

If we're going to start picking fun at people I'd say the goPro crowds are the worst. I can't even imagine how much crappy footage is out there.

Next are the asians who wear canada goose jackets to the hills and smoke in the lineup.

Then the backcoutry crowd who wear full packs with probes, shovels, 125 underfoot skis and touring bindings on a groomer day or when the dive is closed lol.
Looking for a new VW? How about a used vehicle? We are Central Albertas #1 source for pre-owned vehicles
I will beat any deal on a new VW for beyonders

    I'm hooked to snowboarding haha!

I went snowboarding for the first time ever at Sunshine and after wiping out many times, I can do blue runs somewhat cleanly.

I still wipe out but whatever haha.

I lead with my left foot to push around but when I go down the hill, I'm right-foot dominant.

    Also, who needs an SUV?

Looks like bc is going to get dumped on. Everything east of the Rockies, at 1000m elevation or higher will get 60-80cm of snow

Can't believe people were requesting refunds for no snow tho.

Anyone know where I can get a decent board/binding/boots package new?

I'll be checking out Kijiji for used board/binding as well but I have to call U of C back and figure out what they gave me. I'll assume it was a 151 because it was labelled on the board. I'm going shorter so I can turn faster.

Is more flex better for cruising? Not looking to do tricks.

If tighter turns are what you're after, check out a pipe board.
Their side cuts are deeper, and their waists narrower.

    Stiffer flex is better for cruising. Soft flex is forgiving for landings, tricks etc;

Because some armchair climatologist blogger said so? Pretty stark contrast from what's really likely to happen over here.

Plus not so sure what you mean, last I checked BC was west of the Rockies?

I'm definitely buying my own boots. The rental boots fit well length-wise but was too narrow. Could not feel my toes and it wasn't because of the cold.

What's a 'pipe board'? Is that a good beginner platform or would it make life difficult?

Side-note: I rode the ski lift up and saw that I crossed the BC border at Sunshine. That was neat haha.

Sorry I meant west, not east. Would be nice if it comes over the rockies and dumps at sunshine and Louise too.

I wouldn't necessarily buy a board that makes it easy to learn for your first few times out. You might have a tendency to grow out of it very quickly. You should buy it for your size and riding style.

On that note, the link posted to sizing your board says you should be sizing based on height (in one of the sections). Don't do this. Size your board based on your weight, that's really what matters. Chances are, unless you're obese, or abnormally tall, the height will wind up within a reasonable tolerance as a result.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your first time out so much, normally people cry about their first time out snowboarding haha.

when i buy a new deck i look at length and width, then what the base is made out of and type of sidewall construction.... then flex. i like a lot of flex cause it makes your riding a lot more fluid and stylish

Well, the board I tried was the following:

    Burton Cruiser
    Small(?)
    151cm

The weight one was within this range so I'm just aiming for a shorter one now, I guess.

Haha thanks! I wiped out a lot the first couple of hours (did the cross arm to chest technique every time I was going to fall) but once I figured out the toe/heel edges and how you ride it like a knife, it wasn't too bad!

I still wiped out on the blue runs but I got down 3/4s of the way then I lost momentum and ate snow.

I found it way easier to control when I'm faster and I hated walking up to the next crest.

    Fuck that noise.

dont go too short, cause powder is lots of fun and you will want some length for when you you get into that so you are not nose diving and getting stuck. for example i ride what i consider to be pretty short for me at 6' 1", a 158cm... i still randomly catch the front of it and each shit and i've been doing this a long time... my wakeboard is too damn short too, always catching the nose on landings
