wheel spacers pros/cons?

hey just wondering, I've never had a set but have been looking at spacers for my car. What are the pros/cons? I've heard a couple of horror stories about spacers snapping and wheels falling off; is this a common issue? I also have friends that have had them on their cars for years and had absolutely no issues......

as long as you have thick enough wheel spacers to where the stock studs dont cause the spacers to stick out, you should be fine. i have had wheels spacers for over a year on my car and never had any issues with them. as long as you have a quality brand and they have been installed tightly. you will be fine.

an alternative would be offset wheels, if youre trying to make your wheels flush.

Don't cheap out and you'll be fine. I've had H&R 25 mm
rear spacers on my camaro for a couple thousand kms
(with some hard launches etc thrown in) and I haven't
had a singe issue.

Use common sense, don't go wider then your studs can
handle and double check your wheel torques until they
settle in.
