I like it a lot. Really improved my N5 experience. I will keep this around for a bit longer now

If its truly as good as they say, i will most likely keep the phone a bit longer. I was really wanting a new smaller N6, but it looks like that aint happening.
It is easy enough to just sideload it if you want it now. Works really nicely on the N5. Only thing I don't like is the new lock swipe screen I always end up unlocking to dialer or camera.

Maybe it was the Turbo Droid/Moto Maxx?

Certainly possible, I don't recall the model number.

Anyone wanting a ~5" phone right now should just wait until March. The Snapdragon 810 will be an enormous step up and keep you current for the rest of 2015 most likely. The HTC One M9, Xperia Z4, and Galaxy S6 will be out then.

It seems the longer the phone sits unusaed, the more prone it is to doing it on the next wake, which made me think software, but it still does it in safe mode, so who knows haha. I don't really care.

How was your refurb? Indistinguishable from new? I have heard they are basically new phones. I'm tempted to sell mine BNIB and just upgrade, however the next wave of worthwhile upgrades don't land until March 2015.
I was a few days before my warranty period and just did an RMA for the USB port not charging properly at times (guess I gotta be more careful with it lol). This time around it came in a plain white box with the phone in a bubble wrap sleeve. It was also covered in plastic screen protector like things all around even the back that you gotta peel off. The previous RMA I did earlier this year came in the regular nexus 5 box.

So from this I'm thinking the rep was right that you get a refurb unit since the previous one was in the retail box in guessing that one was brand new?

Good thing is you can't tell it's a refurb, it even had more plastic wrappers than the brand new phone I originally got lol

Yeah retail box w/accessories would have been brand new. Plain box without charger, cables, etc. is a refurb. When you send back your old phone, if it's a refurb, the email will tell you to keep your charger.

Upgraded my N5 to Lolipop last night, it combined my work email into the gmail app, which I hate. Any suggestions for an exchange server email app?

That happened when my gmail updated last week, I don't like it either. I want it undone.

I have been using touchdown for many years. It is $20 but works awesome. Also over-rides the screen lock requirement so I think it is bugged now, but you have to enter a pin to unlock the app.

Then undo it. You can install the old apk to roll back the gmail version.

Has anyone experienced the dramatic battery performance increase as promised?

Girlfriend got Lollipop on her N4 yesterday.. I will never update to it.. Ugh.. so ugly. KitKat I would say at this point is far nicer.

PS.. Lollipop runs on Art only.. so ensure your apps are compatible.

My N7 got Lolipop yesterday, it runs extremely well.

My N5 hasn't got it yet, yet all my friends have it already (N4 & N5), and many of you seem to have it haha. I never have good luck with the update lottery on my phones!

I got it last night, I thought it was all gone to hell since it's just like ringer then straight to vibrate and that's it, they deleted silent mode, I run my phone on silent and use the LED notification usually.

Anyways after much screwing about I finally got it to work as I wanted again, but man are ppl pissed all over the place.

I mean it runs well but just takes some getting used to all over again now.

I have been running Lollipop on my Nexus 4 now for a few days and love it. It is dramatically faster then Kitkat and feels a lot more polished. I also love smart lock. I can't say I have really noticed much of a battery improvement but it for sure no worse.

Also as far as the gmail update. I am loving my work email in Gmail over the stock mail app. Works a lot better. I just find it weird that pretty much the same day my personal mail moved from Gmail to Inbox, my exchange mail moved to Gmail. I basically stopped and started using the Gmail app all on the same day.....
