I don't think I've noticed a significant improvement or decline in my battery since the update.

However, I've had issues with voice calls the last few months - the other person can barely hear me or not at all. I went and filled out the online form on the Google site and asked for a callback. Within 2 seconds of submitting it, I got a call.

They want me to do a factory reset and if that doesn't work, just reply to the email and they'll send me a new one.

Damn their service is good.

seems like a newer radio version at least which i might try flashing if ppl report better battery

overnight i don't see a constant "nothing happening" on the battery stats screen... wifi and shit is continuously turning on and then off over and over again

using this link as a guide i upgrade my 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 without losing my shit and without unlocking the bootloader (basically just use adb to sideload the OTA zip and the phone took care of it from there)... i used some adb installer thing so i can run adb commands from anywhere on my laptop and not worry about copying those adb files to that directory..

I use Youmail visual voicemail app. It's incrementally better is almost every way than iphone's visual voicemail. I pay for the premium service ($10 a year or something like that).

Rogers had a visual voicemail app for android but it was very buggy so I think they just pulled it eventually. I used to use it all the time with no issues..

Has anyone else noticed that there's now a volume limit on the phone? I stream with the TuneIn app, and my metal doesn't get as loud as it did before the update. Is there a switch I can flip to eliminate this or am I stuck with it?

i use roger's visual voicemail app, works great for me, no issues. but i noticed just while writing this that it's no longer available on the play store

those are great hours, but you're not really using your phone at all. for at least 8 hrs, your nexus is just sitting there doing absolutely nothing lol... do you use it as a paperweight or something??

i would classify myself as a moderate user, usual apps on the go, full sync, habitual checking, camera etc, can get 20+ hrs without much difficulty

That includes at least one "sleep" which is why the phone would have a ~8hr period of doing essentially nothing.

I am texting regularly, checking emails, and I have WhatsApp group chats going non stop. All syncing services are on, and so is GoogleNow and Facebook notifications/messenger. I surf the web or read news a little bit over lunch hour and if I ride the train home. I don't use bluetooth and I have few voice calls. Like I said my screen time is usually around 1.5 hours, and I know some people are closer to 3hr, so that is likely the biggest factor. I'm neither a light nor ultra-heavy user, but definitely somewhere in the middle and I am getting fantastic battery life, an extra 8-10hr since the update.

Got it on the 5 and 7 yesterday, I haven't noticed any differences . It was a super tiny update, I'm not sure why the bothered adding a version number for this one but not the last.

4.4.4 is like a 24MB update, tiny.

I called actually. They said they only sell them with a contract and supposedly locked with a carrier.
