    Default Fall kills student

From the Calgary Sun, Monday 23, 2004 page 20:

A Carleton University engineering student who was participating in a spitting contest with friends plunged 11 floors off a downtown high rise to his death late Saturday night.
Ameer "AJ" Jinah was celebrating his 20th birthday in his 11th floor apartment at 199 Kent St. with about a dozen friends when the accident happened at about 11 p.m.
Police said it appears Jinah took a running start to try to spit further than his two friends when he unintentionally vaulted himself over the balcony railing.
"It was purely accidental" said Ottawa police Sgt. Joe Simpson.
    "Momentum carried him beyond."
Police said alcohol was being consumed at the party.

why do you need a running start for a spitting contest?
seems like it could've been avoided.

my condolences for the family and friends...

No kidding fuckin stupid. If it really was an accident, and they were seeing who could spit farther and he "vaulted himself over the balcony," obviously they were trying to see who could spit farther out of the building.

Now I have little experience with this, but I'm assuming when you spit out of a building from the 11th floor you're not gonna see how far your spit went.

    Great contest, they all won.

More likely scenario, they were leaning over the balcony trying to spit on pedestrians and he fell, or some body pushed him, or they really are a bunch of dumb fucks.

    Condolences to the family nonetheless.

Well the world has know for far more than 100 years that an object in motion tends to stay in motion. Im suprised he didnt realize it applied to him as well. But a death is a death. RIP.
