this is strange...although I won't pretend to be an expert on why certain lotteries might pay out a modest amount on a low probability event like that. It certainly doesn't seem like $5k is worth the effort of a lawsuit (for either side).

I still want to know where the margin is here for the OP.

- Making money off of CC points collected off of the sales?
- owns a convenience store that sells lottery
- has an associate that owns a convenience store that sells lottery

The time and effort to put these together is not coming without some kind of reward.

I'm speculating, but maybe another option could be:
- Only the OP knows the actual number of people who sent money for shares. The listed number of share holders for this win was 196. Hypothetically, there could be more shareholders who sent money and the difference (listed vs. actual) is the margin. This only becomes an issue when there's a win and it doesn't cover the actual shareholder payout. I hope this isn't the case because I like the idea of the lotto group.
