Default Small Business Server 2008 help

My static IP changed and now my emails and desktops will not load.

currently exchange sees old IP address 173.x.x.111 and it should be 173.x.x.219

Server has a static ip 192.168.10.5
I can login remotely with new IP address for the WAN but I would like my domain to also work. remote.hhxxx.com currently it still points to the old static ip address.

I am very green with servers, sorry I dont have more information but if you need info please ask, trying to wrap my head around this

Did you set up SBS yourself?

If you're lucky it should auto update like in WHS (you might have to run the remote access config again, I can't remember it has happen to me in awhile...).

Otherwise start looking here: techent SBS 2008 to see how it works then go from there (search google)...

I did this last year, I dont specialize on Exchange servers but I can take on simple tasks with them (eg adjust email max attachment size) in powershell.

Took a bit of consulting the internal HELP menu and hits on Technet as mentioned above, but it worked in the end.

Have you gone in to your domain registrar's site and updated your DNS records to point your domain name to your new static IP?

From your description, it sounds like that might be the problem.

When you say that e-mails will not load, what exactly do you mean by this...

Seeing that you say the Remote Web Workplace is pointing to the old IP. I'm assuming you haven't logged in to your DNS provider to update your A Records and MX records.

You need to update the A record for remote.domain.com to reflect IP, you also need to log in and update the MX record if it's not pointing to that remote A record.
