At minimum wage plus fuel, it's in the area of $200 at least.
Can you redo this math based on a Beyonder's average hourly wage?

I had $700 worth of towels shipped and DYK charged me $90 for the package. There is no way I'm spending a day of my time to save $90.

My quote from the retailer was ~$350 difference for shipping to the border vs shipping to my house, and DYK was also around $350 so it was a wash. Me driving to the border to get it myself was never part of the equation, fuck that noise.

Apparently the Honda dealers in the us won’t ship to Canada, and there is a $400 price difference per axle buying them stateside. If anyone is heading down that would be amazing, my backup plan is shipping them to Hawaii for $200 and figuring out how to fit them in my checked bag on the way home.

I would think using Montana mailbox and then DYK post to bring them across the border for you would be cheaper than shipping to Hawaii

I’m going to get some estimates but $150 usd to ship to Hawaii looks like it might be cheaper than usps to Canada

How much will the overweight baggage fee be to fly them back?

what about getting it shipped to montana mailbox, and then getting DYK post to pick it up and bring it back for you?'

I did that for some motorcycle parts and a suitcase and it was very reasonable

Wedding with 30+ guests, I might be able to get some favours pulled in

Sadly the supplier wont even ship to sweetgrass without a us billing address, I hope the dealership model goes up in flames

I bought a few Greenworks 80v tools. I think it was the snow thrower and a leaf blower. At the time GW US had an excellent sale so when I did the math with currency conversion and the import fee it was still well worth the effort.

    Paid $70 total for a 25lb package.

This was back in 2019 tho so maybe their prices are higher these days.
$20 of that was Customs Tax, which you may or may not pay depending on the customs agent. $50 is cheap for mileage, wear and tear, but mostly your time.

Dumb question, if I ship to Sweetgrass with an invoice under my name but a buddy brings it across, customs going to hassle them at all?

If he's bringing it across, it's considered his. Like "did you pack your own luggage" question.
I'd open the box so they can also view it just in case.

He can import it for you, just should carry a copy of the invoice and your contact info, but it's easy and common.

    Luggage sized?

I'll be in Pennsylvania and then New York for this week and next if you want to ship to the hotel, or is it already in MT?

Anyone going to the MT border soon? I have a few small items that I need to grab and I'm still waiting on a replacement passport.
