    Awesome thanks guys.

When you cross you just claim the items and pay duty? what about GST?
I have only ever had to pay GST. As mentioned, just bring receipts and you will be fine.
@JfuckinC when are you planning to run across the border? Have some extra room by chance?

Haha, I’m unsure yet, need to get brakes for my Camaro and maybe a couple things from Holley.

I’ll post up if I’m going, I’d be taking my truck so very likely.

    Any updates on a date?

The amazing January and February weather caused havoc on my struts and shocks - three of four puked oil. I need to order replacements for pickup in Montana, and then send the originals back to Bilstein for warranty replacement.

shortly after this, i found out one of my coworkers has a place down south, i ended up having my full big brake setup shipped to his place in Montana for free, and he brought them home for me last week

DYKPost will bring them up for you, plus you can ship the old ones back with USPS for pretty cheap as well.

Thanks. I'll look into this option and determine the cost.

i do have something i've been eyeing up that's half the price state side and have been looking for an affordable run.

I usually just go down 1-2 times a year, i typically have enough stuff to bring back for me and my family that the money i'd have spent on duty and tax pays for the hotel to spend the weekend

Anyone doing a run any time soon? Found some cordless lawn equipment on amazon.com for a good deal but they won't ship to Canada.

Also how does it work for taxes? does Canada customs charge GST on the product you bring back? any other fees i should be aware of?

EDIT: nm, read the first post. Looks like GST and duties, and based on the calculator it doesn't seem too expensive at all

When picking up a multi of things, I've yet to pay more than GST, regardless of where its made. They don't seem to care that much unless its something big and expensive (like a car).

Edit, except booze, they always grab the sin-tax on that too.

DYKPost seems like an interesting solution. Going to give them a call to see if this will still be worthwhile after their fees

I've used these guys for a smaller item because they would not ship to Canada at all so I had not other alternative. That being said, it was not that much cheaper at all but mind you, I only had the one parcel. Had I ordered more, it might have been worth it. Next time I order something from eBay, I will most likely try and order a large number of items and have them ship to DYKPost as from the looks of how it is set up, it will be a better deal to do it this way. A lot of the die cast cars I buy from the states offer free shipping to the US and are about half the price of other companies that sell cars that include free shipping to Canada so I'll try this out.

Pretty much this. For one pack its cheaper than fuel down there but for a bunch you'd probably spend more in fees as they charge a bunch of little shit.

For example this is on a ~250$ shipment.
    Brokerage charge - 20$
    DYK Fee - 3$
    GST - 11.13$
    Warehouse fee - 6$
    Disbursement fee - 2$
    Fuel surcharge - 75 cents

All in came out to 44$ basically. Still worth it in the end as it was free US shipping or 75$ shipped to Canada (plus whatever ups/fedex wouldve charged me)

Well in my case it's a trimmer and leaf blower combo. $313 USD = around $420 CAD. If i buy the same items here it's $540 + GST.
    https://www.amazon.com/Greenworks-Co...dp/B01ID9G9OU/

So if all the fees are less than the $120 savings i think i might still be ahead. now that i think of it though, i wonder if i would have any warranty issues being that i bought it from a different country? i'll have to call the manufacturer and confirm

I just get stuff shipped to MSO and take a weekend vacation to montana as needed, the savings of the personal exemption typically pays for the hotel stay

I'm interested in this too, I'm thinking about shipping a front lip for my car there since they won't ship to Canada.
@R-Audi which shipping outlet did you send your stuff to?
