What's the process for shipping there? Just put their address in as the delivery address, then once tracking shows it delivered just show up and pick it up?

Might be making a run down to MSO on Nov 27 coming back Nov 29. Will have room for bigger items like tires/rims. All depends if my package arrives before that. PM me if you want anything picked up.
Still on Ian? I have a small parcel.

I'll be heading down this Friday if anyone needs something brought back.
I'm taking a trip down there this Friday (July 1st-Canada Day) to pickup a bumper and a few small parts. Let me know if anyone needs anything picked up. Same conditions as OP's post.

Anyone going down anytime soon? I have a few packages...
1968 Impala: Status: Stored
1977 Dodge Triple E RV: Sold
1989 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL: Sold
2008 Mercedes Benz C230: Cruising
2000 Bluebird TC2000: Build phase of skoolie project
2018 Rav4 XLE: New baby friendly daily
Does anyone still do this? Or is the dollar too low to bother?
Anyone tried DYK for car parts?
Dyk will be cheaper than gas probably but their fees add up. My last 300$ shipment cost me about 50$ to get it here between the warehouse fee, the brokerage fee, and then gst and suchThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I’ve used them a fair bit and it works pretty we. They do pickups twice a a week I think Tuesday and Thursday
The dollar is never to low and the savings are always exceptional. If you order enough stuff to make the drive economical you can save even more. Between myself and another beyonder we have likely saved close to $5,000 over the last few years making our annual pilgrimage to Sweet Grass, Montana.
The drive is pretty relaxing too. Get your morning coffee in Clairesholm, Lunch on the way back in Lethbridge, take a pic of the spaceship in Vulcan on the way home. A nice way to spend 8 hours.

Yep, always worth it for bigger stuff. Our next load of Mustang parts alone is saving us thousands in shipping. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I guess I can look like a nice guy and parlay it into a family visit with my SO’s family down there too haha.. where is your preffered pick up points? Any tips for how to go about it?
Thanks guys.
@BerserkerCatSplat Whatcha get? I finally got my first V8 and it's a S197 chassis! I can't wait for Spring to show up.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Your two options in Sweet Grass are At The Border Storage and Montana Shipping Outlet, they are in the same parking lot and have identical prices. The only advantage one way or another is Montana Shipping Outlet is open 1 or 2 more days a month than At The Border Storage. I generally use At the Border and my friend uses Montana Shipping Outlet and we head down together every year. Neither of us have had any issues with either to date. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Congrats! You'll have a blast once we get some nice weather. We ordered a load of restoration parts for a '68 GT fastback that's currently on the rotisserie, mostly bulky stuff like body panels that would cost a mint to ship up here. I also ordered some photo developing chemicals that you cannot ship cross-border and Canadian prices are absurd. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I use Montana Shipping Outlet, they're a friendly bunch and they have the bonus of periodically being open on Saturdays - although if you plan to do a weekend pickup it's a good idea to call in advance and make sure they're going to be open that day.
Awesome thanks guys.
When you cross you just claim the items and pay duty? what about GST?
You pay gst on everything technically and duty only if it’s applicable based on what it is / where it was manufacturered. Best bet is to print off the receipts and bring them with youThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
