Default who are you with for health benefits?

For all you contractors, casual, etc employees, I'm looking for ideas on companies (ie bluecross) which I can enroll in for health benefits and such.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

We have Blue Cross for Neatfreak. It's okay, offers direct billing, and the enhanced program is fairly affordable (sub $100 for single coverage per month).

If you went to University you can probably get a group rate through your alumni assocation.

Wife and I are both sunlife, my plan through telus seems to cover alot more than hers through cenovus yet I pay less to cover the whole family than she does.

Sunlife. Used to be Manulife before but company switched to Sunlife. Sunlife was a lot more flexible on allocating money between Health Spending Account and Life and Learning (yay money for computers )

I'm currently a contractor (new into the role) without any health coverage, I've been exploring Private Health Service Plans (http://brockhealth.ca/phsp-concepts/how-it-works/) as well as Bluecross, a lot of people i work with seem to be fans of the PHSP concept fwiw

i haven't decided what to do

    Me: AB Blue Cross
    Spouse: Great West Life

Coverage isn't as great with Great West Life, not as many Direct Bill opportunities, and for vision (if it's covered) they have this stupid form that requires your optometrist to sign before you can get reimbursed. Even my optometrist said she has never had to sign one of them before.

Great West Life then Equitable Life.

GWL has lots of places set up with direct billing where Equitable has less being a new comer.

But Equitable's claims app is awesome. Snap a pic of receipt and money shows up in bank within a week.

    Sunlife. Previous Great West Life.

Liked both companies, but Sunlife pays faster. No complaints.

I am FT though, not casual - that's just the company my company uses. Either are good.

Both the Wife and I are with Blue Cross, its nice as we can share each others benefits.

    My MTM's (Invisilines) were free.

Our daughters braces were almost free.

    Gotta love double the coverage.
