I can't blame them if they are trying to bring the site back to it's roots. Beyond lost its way awhile ago and has moved from a automobile enthusiast site into a life style site. Seems like the shifting demographics had something to do with it. Gone are the days debating about reproduction racing seats and wheels, long build threads, actual racing/dyno results, street racing encounters etc. Now it's all about which car folks can swing the monthly payments for and watching F1 on TV.

I decided to completely stop posting on 780. What a fucking shit show that forum turned in to. In each sub forum, it has the "Rules" and all this bullshit about how you can't even mention anything negative about the mods question why posts or comments are deleted, how it's not open for discussion, how there will be zero warnings and only bans and how we all have been WARNED!!!

I enjoyed being part of a local forum, but with the way it has gone lately, I don't want anything to do with it anymore. I hope the forum crashes and burns.

Ten years is a long time. The 16-19 year old kids who were posting then are now the 26+ group buying their first houses/nicer cars/having kids. Makes sense that the forum would be a fluid thing that adapts to its user base.

As for 780, we have this gem. Apparently they guy really has no clue what to do in this case.

I need a little guidance here.

My girlfriend has been dealing with a guy who refuses to leave her alone - saying he's going to show up at her place of business and sometimes "isn't able to control his actions". Calls her repeatedly throughout the day and night after being told repeatedly to cease communications with her. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now.

This morning she tells me he called her again today and told her "If you (she) doesn't show up at my (his) place this weekend, I'm (he's) gonna be really angry and won't be able to control his actions."

It's getting her scared now. I don't know what kind of actions she can take to protect herself and keep this creep away from her after repeated attempts to remove herself from him.

He's only ever made the threats over the phone and never via a text method. What actions can be taken to prevent any further incidents from occurring and giving her a bit of piece of mind? Thanks!

The problem with 780 isn't the users. They are what they are. It's the moderation. The owner is being super anal and controlling, while never actually contributing anything to the forum.
