    Default Ties: Where To Buy

Just started a new job where its business casual attire.

I have a few dress shirts, so I'm covered there but need to add more ties to my collection BUT I'm cheap and the dept I work in, I don't need nothing fancy. Cheapest tie I found was at a liquidation place for $5 for a silk one but that was years ago.

Cheapest I've found so far is looking on eBay. Anyone purchased ties off eBay before?Basically looking for ties that are under $20 each.

Any websites recommendation please post up.

You try Banana Republic and Banana Republic Factory outlet? I've seen cheap ties there in the clearance section before for under $20. Not all the time, but have seen them there.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I tried www.thetiebar.com and that website worked. Lots for under $15 and with shipping at either $9.99 for USPS and $19.99 for UPS flat fees, thats pretty awesome.

Thanks all. Will try buying one from eBay first, and then will try www.thetirebar.com

Any other recommendations please keep them coming.

Tried that. Good suggestion, just didn't have any colors or sizing I liked. Lots of "skinny" ties and that would look weird on a big guy like me.

The Bay? I got a few there and they were cheap, like $8/each or something like that. There is always some sort of sale on at The Bay.

If I were starting a new job in a business casual environment, i'd maybe spend the extra $10-30 for decent ties and pair them with shirts I didn't have lying around in the closet already. It might be cliche to say "dress for the job you want" (I'd be coming to work in my racing suit and helmet if this were taken literally) but if you plan on moving up the ladder, looking good doesn't hurt.
