I was just thinking the other day how the snow berm against the barriers would hinder their effectiveness. Wonder if that's what happened here.Originally posted by Cos
I cant figure out how they ended up going the other way when there is obviously a barrier there.
There is a video on globals website of the accident

To me it looks like she is flying by people and loses it
Not really. The people she's "flying by" are all in the Deerfoot onramp lanes.Originally posted by shtock99

She was going too fast. Maybe she was overtaking? She just flew and that curve must've been icy! RIP.
She will never forget this night.
Probably in the far left lane going EB, loses it where it curves a bit, piled up snow acts as a ramp and puts her over the barrier to the WB lanes.
She must have been going at a pretty good clip to be able to do that. I was driving by there maybe 15 minutes before and WB was heavy, but EB was flowing faster.
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
At the 21 sec. mark you can see her coming up on the car in the right lane moving a hell of a lot faster, to me it looks like she tries to switch from the right lane to the left and thats when she spins out.
Holy shit, that truck was flying. Probably hit the snow in between lanes, tail came out and bye bye. I wonder if it was even on RWD.
Got stuck in front of my house tonight... total bitch to dig and rock myself out. First time I've ever considered snow tires.
Yea I was using the Ranger this week and it was useless without 4wd, even on a straight section.
Its a weekend/summer play vehicle used to haul toys, boats etc so it has summer tires (aka all seasons) as it sits most of the winter (unless used for moving large items)
mannnn deerfoot sucks tonight and 16th ave, going 80km/h I give my big chevy a good push of the gas pedal and it breaks traction and goes sideways....I don't care how good of winter tires a person has or what kinda studs, slamming on the brakes ontop of that is going to create hell.
I wish people would realise that before cutting in front of me and braking when nothing is in front of them =(

this happened outside while waiting for chinese food.
and this was pretty tame compared to what I saw before I started to record it.
Your commentary in the video pretty much sums up my new approach to driving in this weather. Taking everything in stride in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah, slowly cut me off when I can't stop or slow down. Brilliant. Guess I'll just swing out onto the shoulder to avoid hitting you, no problem. Oh now you're gonna slam on your brakes and start sliding? Right on. Ah, it's an Asian. No problems or stereotypes there. Sweet. Oh look an accident up ahead. Fuck yeah."
Well you get the idea. That was me talking to myself for 45 minutes on the drive home. In my mind it was Bill Burr's voice saying it to me too which just made it funnier.
I really need to fix my radio....
Wow how does that even happen? That really sucks

Good god... it is still snowing out there
I have got to get a snow blower... the amount of driveway and sidewalk I have is ridiculous
Yeah, I was just dumbfounded at the stupidity that I had been watching for the last 10 mins. I knew it would be impossible to describe it to anyone, so I busted out the phone to record it.Originally posted by btimbit

The worst part was, it was creating a huge backup right there. everyone watches everyone else spin out trying to get up it. Literally, people matting the skinny pedal trying to get up, only to have the car do a 180 on them. After a few attempts, they would go a different way, and then the next goofball would try.
It would not help getting mad at them, I figured by standing there and recording it, people might be embarrassed to even try. Nope. Not a single fuck was given.

I've seen a ton of drivers very blatant running red lights. I'm not talking turning red as they go through the intersection. Saw a goof in a white PT Cruiser go through a red light that had been solid for a good 2 seconds on macleod & 25 ave sw this morning.
anyone have a YT link for the video?Originally posted by shtock99

If he is going north or south he should get a ticket in the mail. I'm not to sure if the are more forgiving for the road conditions, but I guess you should be driving for the conditions and have time to stop.Originally posted by Hallowed_point

Drove to sunshine Wednesday and I didn't have any problems in my truck. Lots of people going 80 I was still doing around 100.
