    Default 2014 Porsche Macan

    http://www.worldcarfans.com/11310316...eaks-out-early

Under the hood, two petrol engines will be available and they will have outputs of 340 HP (250 kW) and 400 HP (294 kW). Nothing is official but they are expected to be a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 and a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6.

The Porsche Macan is slated to go into production in December and the mid-level S variant is expected to cost about $52,000.

There have been like 7 rumoured engines for it, all the way from the Audi 2.0T to the 3.7TT. Can't wait to find out what they actually are.

Front end is very "Attack of the Bugs from Mars" though.

    May be for Europe.

But only 2 engines are confirmed for NA.

3.0TT for Macan S and 3.6TT for Macan Turbo.

$52K for Macan S can potentially be better deal than the Audi SQ5.

The 3.0TT can do 410HP/385lb/ft in the Panamera S. It must be detuned to 340HP here which left a lot for aftermarket.

I'd like to see a diesel engine and the price somewhere around 50K. I've been in a Cayenne S, really nice IMO compared to what is on offer from MB and Audi.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Darn, I liked the renderings better

Main centre grill looks better wider at the top than wider at the bottom.

Such a busy front-end. Too many layers going on.

However if it did have a TDI engine on it, it will go against the Bluetec and possibly take a piece of the market share.

Interesting article from earlier this year. Jeremy Cato argues that Porsche is now primarily a truck company. That was before the introduction of this model as well. The trend is irreversible.

Porsche purist hates anything that isn't a 911.

If you think Cayenne's turn Porsche into a truck company, Macan will be a new volume leader for Porsche.

Since you can take a $60K Boxster S to well over $100K, I would think same will apply to Macan.

Having a niche isn't enough to make a company profitable, which is what all companies are after.

Jaguar is thinking of building their own cross-over, which is unnecessary since the Land Rover lineup is right there but they want more pieces of the pie.

If the Cayenne allows Porsche to keep creating the 911 sports car, what's not to like about that?

I doubt it. That's starting to really cut into Q5's turf.

    May be as a hybrid.
