Default Hipsters ruining more things: hunting edition

I'm going to make kind of a man purse, maybe. I don’t know. I was trying to think how I could actually get away with using that in something I would wear. And I think a man purse is a good idea. Yeah, it's totally hipster. But I mean, whatever.

What happens when being a hipster is too mainstream? Oh wait, it already is.

I expect a hipster hunter to use a spear or bow and arrow.

A real hipster would've hunted with a spear. Perhaps you've never heard of it?

That would take effort, effort is sooo mainstream.

I'm all for this. Getting young people to be in touch with nature and with thier food production is a great thing.

Sure, lots of novice hunters don't know the proper techniques, but that's true in most sports and pasttimes. This generation, unlike many in the past, probably isn't learning this from thier fathers, but from other novices and the internet. Some screw-ups are to be expected.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Oh shit, you are right. Shoot it first with a mini gun, then stick an arrow into one of the holes. Say a prayer or two of some sort while doing so. Then selfie time.

The only thing I know is that a black bear is black, and that a white tailed deer has a white tail.

Don't have a clue as to the other stuff. Its got antlers - its probably on the hunting list.

No if you label someone a "hipster" they are immediately BAD!

Hunting isn't about killing food and using the other parts of the animal. It is about going out with your redneck friends in overpriced camo gear, drinking tons of American beer, listening to Kid Rock and burning obscene amounts of fuel in your lifted 4x4 truck and quad/sxs... and if by chance you happen to fill a tag its a bonus. Then going home and turning most of your kill into jerky and smokies and then brag about how hunting saves you money on buying meat.

I for one am glad to see people getting into hunting that aren't part of the current hunting subculture.

Add me to the support list. The man purse thing sounds pretty silly but honestly, I don't care if he uses one thats been mass produced so how is this any different? If it's getting our pussy-assed men out into the bush and in touch with their masculine side again, how can it be a bad thing?

Also if you know how to hunt, maybe this would be a good time to start offering guided hunting trips. Charge a few hundred bucks a pop, teach them how to do it right, profit.

Chances are hipsters will probably get WAY more into the hunting side of hunting than most mainstream hunters.

In the same way that hipsters get overly obsessed with coffee, shaving, denim and beer.

I don't hunt, but this describes 3/4 of my friends that hunt pretty accurately. (Minus the kid rock, and add giving TONS of meat away, because they don't want to store it all themselves)

I'm not rich enough to be hipster.

I'd lure the deer via the promise of a fair-trade deal.

I won't cast judgement against those that want to do things the hard way.

The nice thing with muzzle loading (and bow hunting) is that you can get out much earlier than those hunting with conventional rifles. I know a few guys that fill their tags well before the snow falls.
