Moxies is giving it some credit. It's worse..
Kinjo used to be decent for a quick bite, but then they lowered standards and decreased the size of their rolls

GO FLAMES GO!
I also find Kinjo to be a disapointment almost every time I go. The Mrs. loves the Las Vegas roll so I do go once in a while.
Between Globefish and Sho on Macleod, which is better?
Kinjo is a write-off.
Better for what? White person fusion rolls? Probably still tip it to globefishOriginally posted by flipstah

The south is full of either cheap sushi, white person fusion, or ayce

If you were straight I'd eat you like a BLT sandwich with extra Bacon. And I fucking LOVE bacon.
I heard they recently changed ownership and, as usual, the quality has suffered.Originally posted by Vagabond142
Dunno if it's been mentioned yet, but Momo Yama Sushi on Richmond Road just off of Crowchild = best tasting sushi I've had in town. Personal opinion.
I'm not a big sushi person, but when I am in the mood for it I really like Sushi Hanami on 37th st SW, close to MRU.
Shokudo ayce just opened in midnapor. Personally the quality is top notch for ayce sushi compared to Oishii price point is the same
Kami sushi on 14th street near 17th ave is a great mix of quality / low price for me

One of my old coworkers and his business partner own Towa. He actually flew all over the world learning how to make Sushi.
They invited me to the grand opening of their new place out in West Calgary (near the Co-op) last year. It was really good sushi, and the portion sizes give you a lot of bang for your buck.
Only thing to really reference size from is the lemon slices... but yeah, big haha

what's the point of making the portions so big? I thought sushi was supposed to be a single mouthful? I'm just some stupid round-eye, but I feel like even good sushi is getting less and less authentic.

I can't eat at Towa anymore. The rice is way too big, and often the rice is not the correct ratio of vinegar, salt, sugar. Always inconsistent and you never know what it's going to taste like every time you go. Fail.
If it's going to be three bites, I'm eating that fucker with a knife and fork.

I know this isn't going to end well... but towa is at the edge of "too big" for me to eat in one go
Had no rice issues... but also don't eat there very often
I concur that bite size is more preferable.
The quality of rice is definitely important. It's a big turn off if it's not done right.
Fuck it, I'll just go to Zipang.
